The 4 of us had the most wonderful lunch, it spanned the whole menu and we were not disappointed with the food and service. I particularly enjoyed the Octopus starter which is not readily available at restaurants in Durban, both in quality and quantity. I would recommend them to anyone.

This place can blow hot and cold. We had a hot night! The service and food were excellent and tasty.Good Italian fare in a congenial atmosphere.

Our evening was marred by a confrontational and rather unpleasant manageress who challenged us as to why we could not sit under a dripping air on unit! A poor start to the evening. Our waitress though was brilliant and so pleasant. The food was pretty average . Focaccia bread was nothing more than crisped up and floury in taste. Perhaps... More

I reckon this is the best Italian restaurant in Durban. The Melanzana Rosti is out of this world, don't forget to order this when you next visit Al Firenze. We also had chicken and fish and everyone raved about their food. I'm a regular so I know what to expect but my party had guests from out of town and... More

Six of us had a table on the terrace which was quite nice, given that the place was full and noisy (we wanted to have some conversation). Service was good, although at the end of the evening it took some time to get the bill. It's a nicely varied menu. My own starter, the Avocado Gamberi (a traditional avocado ritz)... More

This was a birthday lunch and my first visit. I found the restaurant décor to be fun and fresh looking and commercially Italian. There was a lovely breeze blowing and we sat near the open front - very pleasant. I ordered the octopus special, I found my first few mouthfuls to be very oily and the taste of olives really... The restaurant struggled to service our table efficiently - the place was humming. Besides the "heat" caused by the almost full restaurant, the interior of the venue can be quite hot. Terrace seating is preferable. Ok, back to the food: the steamed mussels just did not seem freshly cooked; the calamari was very average; both dishes not large portions. No... More

Tucked away in a back street, you do not stumble across this restaurant accidentally. The food though makes it a popular choice and for good reasons. We had the Caprese salad followed by spaghetti meatballs which were very tasty and juicy. Strangely the tiramisu was perhaps the weaker dish with far too much cream which was drawing the otherwise well... More

Always the best, home food away from home. The best meals are the ones not on the menu card. Ask Tony or Gena to share the secret menu....

We had not booked and arrived to a full restuarant but were immediately seated and the service from our waiter was great! The pizzas we had from the authentic pizza oven were world class!! the atmosphere is special and one gets to experience a great atmosphere !
