We asked our tour guide, Alistair, where he and all local people like to eat and he recommended Kombuis. We went there for a dinner, which was amazing and were also surprised by a stunning view of the city it had offered to go with...More

We hiked up to Bo-kaap kombuis in time to see sunset, and spoke to the owner who served us delicious pastries and shared some stories of the town and her heritage. What a special place, we highly recommend!

Their menu states they charge 10% service charge but when the bill came it was 18%! When we asked for it to be amended they changed it to 10% + 100 r more. Sigh. Hustlers. Other than that the view here was attractive. You can...More

The only Malaysian meal that I had in Cape Town was at Bo Kaap, and I must say it was pretty good. The parathas they served were excellent, but they didn't do a great job with the boboti. Overall, I would suggest any of the...More

Sunset with a wonderful view of Table Mountain and Lion's Head plus great food and service. Nothing much more to say -- but I will. This family run restaurant (with some rooms downstairs) sits way up above Bo Kaap. The food is Cape Malay --...More

Nope. In keeping with the Muslim faith of the owners and this traditional and historical area within Cape Town - it is inappropriate to serve alcohol.

There are dishes that are not hot. There were people in our group who did not eat spicy food, and they were able to enjoy several dishes. But I am not sure whether there are dishes without any chilli at all.
