This small but delicious restaurant serves Argentine "barbecue". The portions are large. Their Pom Frits were good. Also try their empanadas. Staff is attentive.

We had a nice dinner here ... lomo (filet mignon) with cream spinach and sauteed mushrooms ... the flan with Dulce le lecherous was amazing.

No place for a vegetarian! You can sit and watch your steaks cooking by the fire. Really good Argentinian beef and at a reasonable price. Worth a visit.

We visited this place for both lunch and dinner. The steaks are superb. Try the lomo with creamed spinach or the T bone. The service is friendly, and if you want to practice Spanish, the waiters enjoy it. The wine list is wonderful ( try the D V Catena Malbec). I wish I could remember the waiters' names---they were great.

I've been to this place a few times in my multiple visits to Buenos Aires. The disappointing part is the service. Sometimes you get a good server and sometimes you gamble on getting a so so server. They have good wine selection to go with your meals. However, if you are there for meat I highly recommend picking from the... More

We ate here twice on our last trip to BA. The food is very good. The waiters are friendly and helpful. Steaks are great and the delicious empanada and meatball appetizers are free! The meats are being cooked over coals and grilled right in the front windows and just as you walk through the front doors, so the smell is... More

My rib eye steak was fantastic - simple as that. Perfect in every way and I would give full marks based on that. This is not cheap food but I found it very good. Limited choice if you are not a red meat eater but if you are it is a feast for you. Old traditional where you immediately sense... More

Great experience. Steaks are great, as well as Empanadas. Service is very good when not crowded. They close late, good when your flight delays.

The restaurant was recommended by our hotel. It was a short walk on a cool damp night. We met a friend unexpectedly and joined him. The waiter welcomed us and seated us together. Out came a plate of empanadas and meatballs. A very nice start to our evening. We shared a plate of grilled cheese which was delicious. Next was... More

Staying in Retiro

Neighbourhood Profile
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighbourhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
