The night in Buenos Aires starts late. Mundo Bizarro is an excellent option to kick off the night on the fringes of Palermo. The ambience of good old-fashioned Americana is topped off with no nonsense rockabilly and amazing drinks. Try the one with sake, ginger syrup and cucumbers, whose name I can't remember, which already says it all regarding the... More

This is on the edge of Palermo but it lacks the pretentious atmosphere of the area. This is a simple but nice bar, with good music (mostly rock), efficient service, a good choice of well made cocktails and funny old movies shown in the background! Prices are reasonable. A good address, unless your goal is to show off.

Cocktails are all the craze in Buenos Aires right now, with trendy cocktail bars opening up on every corner. Most however lack the character and pride that Mundo Bizarro has though. The bartender Pablo is a legend and frontrunner in the local cocktail culture and makes some of best drinks in the city, and without an attitude of arrogance. The... More

This bar was right up our alley. Great (rock) music and interesting surroundings. Felt right at home. The servers were friendly and patient with our poor Spanish, too. There is a huge selection of classic cocktails plus some interesting new recipes. This place has a real "hole in the wall" feel. I didn't eat here, but my husband had a... More

Unique ambience, music selection and visuals. MB is the home of Kustom Kulture and the Bizarre. If you dig the spirit of American Cocktail Lounges of the 40's and 50's, you found the place to get your "drink on" in Palermo viejo. They have classic cocktails such as Manhattan's, Martini's and Cosmopolitan's as well as custom creations by bartender extraordinaire,... More

I went to Mundo Bizarro 2 years ago and it was fun, lots of people, great music and incredible drinks. Now I wenr back to Buenos Aires and went there along with friends and it was terrible: empty, Mojito tasted below average, there was no more beer (!!!), music was perfect for a funeral, service was bad and they didn't... fantastic bar- great people lots of creative folks, artists and so on. no pretension. food is pretty typical bar food but the cocktails are truly original and fantastic. the best thing is sushi mondays- everything is salmon (as in most of BA) but the quality is excellent and the price for what you get is unbelievable. really great.

Staying in Palermo

Neighbourhood Profile
Palermo
Best known as the largest neighbourhood in Buenos Aires, Palermo is divided into different quarters, each with its own unique identity. The high-end quarter is Palermo Chico, characterized by magnificent mansions, regal avenues, and exclusive apartment buildings, and home to the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (MALBA), a favourite amongst locals. The largest park in the city, the Bosques de Palermo, is Palermo's most famous landmark and a popular destination for nature walks, picnics, rollerblading, and cycling. The scene becomes much trendier in Palermo Soho, a hip area known for its cool cafés and unique design stores, filled with shoppers on weekends; and Palermo Hollywood, renowned for the numerous restaurants, bars and nightclubs, which make it the preferred spot for nights out and special occasions.
