Had heard this was absolutely devine ice cream and therefore had high expectations visiting here. The choice was excellent however prices were expensive and portions quite small. The ice cream was good but not amazing and didn't live up to the hype.

I went to two different Voltas, each with different flavor offerings. By and large the ice cream tops the sorbet, however the orange sorbet with strawberries was *excellent*, easily my favorite of the flavor of the eight we tried. All the products have a very nice texture, though some lack flavor. The dulce de leche and chocolate varieties all rock,... More

On advice from a friend who lives in BA we tried two new flavors (for us): Dulce de leche, and Sambayon. The first is creamy milky flavor, the second is like frozen advocaat. We tried these flaovours at other places too, but Volta was the best

We were advised to try here by our Argentine tour guide as she said it was the best, well she wasn't far wrong. With our poor Spanish we managed to get two fabulous ice creams. After which we didn't want to eat for hours, it was wonderful

Friendly staff, clean and comfortable with a great selection of fabulous ice creams! Well worth the money and we visited after it was recommended by our guide on the graffiti art tour.

Very surly service; seemed to be annoyed to have anyone come into the cafe and be disturbed. Also the ice cream was not on display; held in big tubs. Good selection and ok icecream but was hoping for more.

This is one of the best ice-cream shops I've ever been, and my boyfriend thinks the same way about it. It's nothing like the ice-cream in the US, it's way way better. The ambience is very nice and relaxing, you can pick if you want to have coffee with cake or ice-cream. The ice-cream is so delicious and creamy, it's... More

Incredibly expensive for the ice cream serving size. Ice cream is good but its really overpriced. The place is nice and the service is OK, however paying usd13 for two small balls of ice cream is way too much for me.

We were walking Callao street and decided to go into this ice cream parlor. The first surprise was the list of flavor they have: mango, passion fruit, lemon, dulce de leche, as well as the traditional flavors. The second surprise was the smoothness of the ice cream and the balanced flavor. It seamed as it had just been made. We... More

The gelato was okay, but size was ridiculously small. For $6 it barely peaked over the small cone. Not worth the trip.

Staying in Palermo

Neighbourhood Profile
Palermo
Best known as the largest neighbourhood in Buenos Aires, Palermo is divided into different quarters, each with its own unique identity. The high-end quarter is Palermo Chico, characterized by magnificent mansions, regal avenues, and exclusive apartment buildings, and home to the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (MALBA), a favourite amongst locals. The largest park in the city, the Bosques de Palermo, is Palermo's most famous landmark and a popular destination for nature walks, picnics, rollerblading, and cycling. The scene becomes much trendier in Palermo Soho, a hip area known for its cool cafés and unique design stores, filled with shoppers on weekends; and Palermo Hollywood, renowned for the numerous restaurants, bars and nightclubs, which make it the preferred spot for nights out and special occasions.
