So fresh... and if you're a dulce de leche lover like me, you've got five varieties to choose from. Also lots of chocolate varieties too (original, dark, white, with nuts, swiss). Ice cream is very fresh, and for once they don't overdo it with the portions. One scoop in a tiny bowl made of the ice-cream cone is just enough... More

We ate ice cream at the Freddos in the mall in the Recolata area. The ice cream was very good (the same at all Freddos), the service was not so great.

Freddo used to be the place to go to get yummy ice cream in Buenos Aires... I don't really know what happened to it, besides it spreading shops like the plague, the ice cream became average and overpriced compared to its competitors. It's still not bad for international standards, but definitely not the best in BA anymore - and they... More

I went on a recommendation from a friend. It was not going so disappoint. Go for the dulce de leche granizado flavour.

Indulge in a sweet treat on a steamy summer day. Lots of locations to sample this artisanal Argentinian Helado. Love the dulce de leche and the maracuya (passion fruit).

Gelato! It was creamy and delicious, with a variety of flavors.I am gluten free and all of the gelato was marked to what contained gluten. The gelato is weighed and packaged in styrofoam. Freddos was our go to place for dessert.

Yes, Freddo is a chain of ice cream stores so some snobs will instantly write it off as having an inferior product, but there is a reason this chain is so popular with locals and tourists alike...they serve seriously good ice cream. Argentines love their ice cream and they also love Freddo. Most serves allow you 2 flavours, which are... More

Dulce de Leche classico is the best I have ever tasted. Seriously the ice-cream here is fantastic. We were recommended to try it and were not disappointed.

Best ice cream in the world (in my experience). Wonderful creamy texture, many chocolate and dulce de leche flavours as well as other choice, lots of other treats too. I recommend chocolate mousse and dulce de leche with choc chips as a winner combo!

Staying in Recoleta

Neighbourhood Profile
Characterised by the French-style mansions which are the legacy of its aristocratic past, Recoleta is the true “Paris of the South.” Walking around this neighbourhood is an experience like no other in Buenos Aires: its streets are lined with elegant apartment buildings, exclusive boutiques, and former mansions turned into high-end hotels and embassies, which exude an alluring air of sophistication and class. You'll also find a rich cultural scene centred on the National Museum of Fine Arts, the National Library, and the Recoleta Cultural Center; as well as some great shopping spots, like the Buenos Aires Design Mall with an artists' fair set up in Plaza Francia every weekend.
