Great " cafe con leche" comes with small scoop of ice cream. Media lunas (mini croissants) are always fresh, often served still warm.

I may have misspelled the name of this torte, but it was the nicest we tried in all ofl South America. Tasted a few versions but VC's remained our favourite Their hot chocolate was excellent too - intensely... More

I thought this place was ok. The gelato wasn't as creamy as other. If you're passing by and you're hot stop in, but otherwise go to another one of the recommended places...I personally liked Un Altra Volta much better.

I've had gelato/ helado at a number of the larger premium ice cream chains in Buenos Aires, and Victoria Cream is by far the best -- densest, richest, just plain tastiest. I got a small cone with dulce de leche and chocolate amargo (bittersweet chocolate) flavors, and it was enormous and deeply satisfying. This was at the Palermo location. Service... More

You can't go wrong with ice cream, but this shop is Da Bomb! I can't recommend it enough. I especially loved the Dolce de Leche. Yummy!

Staying in Recoleta

Neighbourhood Profile
Characterised by the French-style mansions which are the legacy of its aristocratic past, Recoleta is the true “Paris of the South.” Walking around this neighbourhood is an experience like no other in Buenos Aires: its streets are lined with elegant apartment buildings, exclusive boutiques, and former mansions turned into high-end hotels and embassies, which exude an alluring air of sophistication and class. You'll also find a rich cultural scene centred on the National Museum of Fine Arts, the National Library, and the Recoleta Cultural Center; as well as some great shopping spots, like the Buenos Aires Design Mall with an artists' fair set up in Plaza Francia every weekend.
