Comfortable because the service is warm and inviting, though you will be near the neighboring table. The pasta, tortellini, crusty bread and olive oil are just so well served and prepared that you want to go back. The other patrons are so BA/Euro style and stylish with families around that you fit in no matter what your origin or home.

Very good service. Carpaccio and following past dishes were excellent. Were never disappointed. Easy with children and very helpful. Our kids were so tired and we couldn't get a taxi back to the hotel fast, so the manager had us driven back by one of his staff in his private car.

I guess our first mistake was not having the Alvear Palace where we were staying make us a reservation for this restaurant . When we arrived without a reservation we were quickly seated upstairs where we received the worst service imaginable. Our waiter ignored us most of the time. We constantly had to flag him down for service. The food... More

Good location in Recoleta. Quite spacious. Excellent restrooms. Good, friendly and attentive service. We had lunch and had several of their pastas and the risotto. All dishes were good, without being excellent. Pasta cooked al dente. Excellent bread. Good wine list.

It's always a small tragedy when one returns to a restaurant one heartily enjoyed a few years back to find that standards of quality, service and hygiene have slipped.....or in this case, collapsed. I found myself in a restaurant that seemed to owe more to Madame Tussaud's rather than a landmark of fine B.A. cuisine. It's not Sottovoce's fault that... More

A good tasty lunch, but nothing outstanding. It's very hard to serve a crowd of over 20. The service was excellent.

Our travel agent recommended a different restaurant, but it was closed for lunch that day, so we ate at nearby Sottovoce. We were fortunate to get the last table for two, and ordered the set lunch special. Service was fairly slow, but the main dish arrived without the steamed vegetables. It took a few waves to get the waiter's attention,... More

Decent service. But terrible and overpriced food and wine. They need to hire a real chef for a few a couple of years to put them on the right path. A ruined evening. Avoid at all cost.

Having been referred by several knowledgable sources, the quality of the meal and service were average. waiter confused order, service was slow and the final bill was high. Would not return again.

We went for lunch as first we were close to the place and second the restaurant is mentioned in many reviews. We were lucky to get a table as by 2pm the restaurant was full. They serve a good Italian food with some Argentinian flavor. And it has a significant price tag.

Thank LeonidVic

Staying in Recoleta

Neighbourhood Profile
Characterised by the French-style mansions which are the legacy of its aristocratic past, Recoleta is the true “Paris of the South.” Walking around this neighbourhood is an experience like no other in Buenos Aires: its streets are lined with elegant apartment buildings, exclusive boutiques, and former mansions turned into high-end hotels and embassies, which exude an alluring air of sophistication and class. You'll also find a rich cultural scene centred on the National Museum of Fine Arts, the National Library, and the Recoleta Cultural Center; as well as some great shopping spots, like the Buenos Aires Design Mall with an artists' fair set up in Plaza Francia every weekend.
