The most excellent meals (beef, beef and more beef). Fantastic service...not cheap, but then you get what you pay for.

We visited El Mirasol on recommendations from front desk at our hotel and from a local gentleman we met in the street earlier in the afternoon. "One of the best meat restaurants in Buenos Aires" he told us. And it was fantastic! When we arrived the staaf made us feel very welcome. When we discussed the menu with the waiter... More

This is reputed to be one of the best meat restaurants in Buenos Aires. After our visit we stopped thinking so. There were three in our party. We started with a meat empanada for each of us. They were OK. For a main course, two of us shared a "tira de asado", the third one ordered a "bife de chorizo... More

We came here and took a little break from steak. My order was pasta and wine. Pretty delicious and friendly service.

One looks forward to eating steaks in BA. So this place was a huge disappointment. Ribeye steaks were ordered by all 3 of us. Medium doneness The steaks were overcooked, tough and dry. I managed to eat 70%, my fellow diners not more than50%. The side fries and sweet potato mash were unpalatable. Grilled vegetables were the saving grace Avoid

My wife and I are winding up an eight night visit to Buenos Aires. We dined at El Mirasol the first evening and liked it so much, we returned two more times. Of course the steak is out of this world (we tried filet, rib and skirt steaks - all great!). One piece of advice: share everything. Portions are large,... More

Wine and steaks was great. But the sidedishes was of lesser quality. Placed under a big road (!) but that is not a problem.

Fantastic meat and salads. One of the best classical restaurant for barbecue. Basically you will see locals, what speaks bu itself. Great wine list. Do not miss this place in your next trip to the lovely Buenos Aires!

Staying in Retiro

Neighbourhood Profile
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighbourhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
