This is a must stop if you go to the Recoleta Cementery. It is a nice coffee shop. Not machines, people serving you. There is always full of families, intellectuals, poets, couples, everyone is there. It is a place to join the ambience, we only drink a delicious coffee that it is serve like in Europe with a small cookie... More

A classic old style coffe-bar at the end of the park, with outdoor tables located under a magnificent centenary tree in a relaxant atmosphere between elegant people (Recoleta portenos). You can find it in the Recoleta posh district, close to the famous cemetery. It does not offer anything extraordinary (good expresso maybe) only its own history (it seems that many... More

We were in the area at lunch time, and it was hot walking in the sun. Decided to stop in here because we noticed air conditioned signs in the window. We were very happy that we did. Saw some other people eating there who were on the same cruise as us. Their meals looked great! So we ordered a big... More

You can sit in or outside, the cost of drinks & meals etc. is slightly more expensive if you decide to sit outside, but outside is the best place to sit and soak up the atmosphere so the additional cost is worth it. We only stopped for a drink and hurrah, real tea, not a tea bag in a cup... More

We went on a hot summer day and sat outdoors under the umbrellas and the trees and felt just lovely. We just had coffee and soft drinks and sat around for quite a while. The next day, we met some other people there and they wanted to sit indoors. Again, just coffee and juice and lots of visiting. They never... More

Supposed to be a tourist trap but we tried it and were pleasantly surprised. Very classy place oozing history. Great service from old school waiters. Not so expensive either - easy for these kind of places to be a complete rip off. Really enjoyed my coffee and cut ham and cheese sandwich. Muy bueno.

The place is 2 minutes walking distance from Recoleta cemetery and is nice for a break after a long walk. You can sit inside or outside with the second be, in my opinion the best option as you have view in the huge ficus in the center of the place. Prices are a little bit expenses for its offering.

Went to this restaurant on the recommendation of our tour leader after visiting the Recoleta Cemetery. A delightful setting with seating inside and out - although you pay more for if you sit outside - maybe they have to carry it further! Although it may be a little expensive by Buenos Aires standards, we were quite happy with the value.... More

This place it's a "MUST VISIT" in your stay in La Recoleta (Buenos Aires City), a lot of history happened in this place. talking about food the place was always well known for its "Lomito La Biela". Prices are quite high but worth it. You can eat outside for and extra charge, and I really don't understand why they overcharge... More

Staying in Recoleta

Neighbourhood Profile
Recoleta
Characterised by the French-style mansions which are the legacy of its aristocratic past, Recoleta is the true “Paris of the South.” Walking around this neighbourhood is an experience like no other in Buenos Aires: its streets are lined with elegant apartment buildings, exclusive boutiques, and former mansions turned into high-end hotels and embassies, which exude an alluring air of sophistication and class. You'll also find a rich cultural scene centred on the National Museum of Fine Arts, the National Library, and the Recoleta Cultural Center; as well as some great shopping spots, like the Buenos Aires Design Mall with an artists' fair set up in Plaza Francia every weekend.
