Located on restaurant row in the third block west of Plaza Independencia, Azafran can be a little hard to find - no big sign, no tables on the sidewalk, no-one standing outside trying to encourage you to come in. It doesn't need any of those inducements. The décor inside is handsome, cluttered in a nice way, and rich in agricultural... More

On our last day in Mendoza, we stopped here for the fixed price lunch, 3 courses, and are extremely happy we did. The decor is charming, the service exceptional, and the food is both delicious and beautiful to look at - all while being reasonably priced. We had wine by the glass, but the sommelier selected options for us to... More

A big surprise was that this restaurant was quite reasonably priced. It is a beautiful restaurant, specializing in beef and wine, but has a broader menu. A cool feature is that the sommelier takes you into the wine room to select your bottle, so you get to actually review his recommendations. Located in the midst of downtown Mendoza's restaurants, it... More

Named after the Spanish for saffron, Azafrán, based in a converted warehouse, is a must for any foodie heading to Mendoza. Chef Pablo Ranea’s menu perfectly accompanies Mendoza’s grape varieties. I enjoyed a filet mignon wrapped in filo pastry and cheese, a Humito (chowder) of corn that was perfection with cream and the amuse bouche was a slice of salami... More

Highly recommended, especially for lunch! The set menu includes three courses and a drink for 390 and the restaurant provides a flavorful, well-executed meal. The service was friendly and attentive. Lovely bread and oil, followed by seasoned dishes and a variety of flavors. My filet was beautifully cooked and the dessert was a lovely combination of flavors.

We ordered a 3-4 appetizers and a main course to share between 2 of us. It was plenty of food for 2. They have a huge wine selection, you can go into the wine room and pick out your own bottle. That day we went to 3 vineyards and we found some wines we tasted that day on the tours.... More

Had heard a lot about this place. Went without booking and we're told would have to seat in the cellar. Thought it would be dark and musty. They meant the round table in the room where they stored their wine. What luck and what an experience. Some people had cancelled so we got the best seat in the place. Fantastic... More

We went here several times during our visit to Mendoza. The wine menu is a room! You go in with the sommelier and pick your wine. Very good service overall and excellent ambiance. Very good food.

I targeted this place for my husband and I to dine, based on several guidebooks recommendation. We were not disappointed. We had a great meal, good wine, attentive service, and we could walk from our hotel to the restaurant. This is always a bonus. I would highly recommend this restaurant to visitors in Mendoza, Argentina.
