Very friendly staff and cozy environment. A good collection of sake. Food is great in terms of quality, design and taste, but do not have a lot of varieties.

I was here on business and heard about Nobou. We decided to make reservations. I am glad we did. I have to say this is one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten at. If you have not been here then don't wait any longer. The food and service is worth it. I am really looking forward to coming... More

I rarely write negative comments here on TripAdvisor, but I went to this place for my birthday, and have their taste menu with $65 per person. The first 2 or 3 dishes (they are tiny) was not too bad, then from there it went downhill, And since it includes the dessert which is sometime not worse mentioning, they put a... More

Come here regularly for lunch and it never disappoints. Great cocktails always changing with the seasons and the lunch menu is yummy. I've had every item and recently their crab sand which was seriously amazing. Also the fat from the pork belly buns just melts in your mouth literally. I can't say enough good things about this place always great... More

Sat at the bar and enjoyed the food and conversation with he chef and owner. A fan of traditional Japanese the twists that were added did not detract and at time enhanced the dish, as it do to the clams steamed in parchment paper with mushroom and stock. My favourite was the Aji which was served sashimi with the bones... More

Very nice setting in a historic building. I love this kind of place. Food was good, but not fantastic. Price did not correspond to size. Each plate is only a few bites. Good food, but no bargain. Not even a good value. Maybe I would give it 4 stars for the setting but service was 2 star so overall it... More

My wife thought we were going to Nobu (one of our favorites) but we very much enjoyed our lunch. We were the only diners there and it was late and hot. I had a Hamachi ceviche to start which was great. My wife had duck salad and I had the soft-shell crab sandwich. Both were excellent and service was excellent.

Discovered Nobuo quite by accident and what a find. Great location in Heritage Square in a restored building. The food was excellent. We will be back with our "foodie" daughter as we all enjoy locally-sourced, high-quality food well prepared and presented. Can't say enough about how pleasant and delicious the experience was and we will champion this wonderful restaurant to... More

The location is convenient to downtown. We've heard rave reviews and were not disappointed in the cuisine. The hamachi was amazing!. It is a "special occasion" as lunch was $$$. The only negative was the odd and LOUD music in what would seem to be a serene, chill setting (Nancy Sinatra - These Boots...) Be aware that the validated parking... More

Description
Refined Asian-style teahouse by day, funky izakaya by night: Nobuo at Teeter House reflects the fascinating duality of Nobuo Fukuda.

The setting — a turn-of-the-century, wood-floored bungalow, awash in earth tones — emulates the relaxed intimacy of Japan’s izakaya, where friends and business associates gather to eat Japanese-style tapas, drink beer and have fun. Nobuo elevates the custom while staying true to its low brow roots, offering rustic Japanese classics with modern American inflections.

During the day, a short lunch menu is offered, as are exotic, aromatic teas, meant to be sipped and savored over quiet conversation.

In the evening, Nobuo creates"5-Star" cuisine, bringing a Western sensibility to Japanese sushi traditions while combining seasonal ingredients in exciting, inventive ways.
