Excellent service, atmosphere and the food was wonderful. Had the chicken enchiladas. Definitely recommend for lunch or dinner.

Heard about this place from a show on PBS and decided to give it a try after driving by it for years by my office. Wow! Wish I had stopped years ago. A group of 5 of us went for lunch. Service was excellent. 2 salsa's and one pico de gallo are served with chips. Very tasty. The red sauce... More

Took business associates and a friend out for dinner--a group with a diverse palate, let's just say. Everybody loved it, and even with a short menu found something to try. We were lucky enough to be there when a guitarist was in the dining room, and the music (never too loud, never overbearing) was a great accompaniment to our conversation.... More

3 couples went for an early New Year's Day dinner after the theater. The host was very friendly and outgoing. The restaurant was clean and attractive. The food was very good, well prepared and plated. We had a wide range of spice tolerances and everyone was happy. We would definitely go back again.

Looking for Navajo tacos and got lost--tried this restaurant on a whim--good choice. The colorful exterior is misleading, and the interior is thoughtfully decorated to exude an intimate and special experience. The waiter was knowledgeable, efficient, and sharing in the history of the establishment. I had the Enrollado de Res, and the wife had the Carne Tampequena. Both dishes met expectations,... More

This meal was delicious and is our new favourite. Service was attentive and friendly in a fun, ambient atmosphere. But the food... especially the sauces, were above and beyond. Three sauces are put on your table for your meal. The coriander flavoured one is my favourite of all time. I would buy that by the bucket. The chipotle sauce was... More

Friends wanted to try this restaurant and we were disappointed. My steak was over done and tuff. My husband said his shrimp was nothing special. I also thought they served the worst margarita I have ever had! Sorry, for a $100 dollar meal we will never go back.

My favorite dish is the chicken mole. The dish has the same amazing taste and high quality every time. The appetizer of fresh chips and homemade guacamole and hot sauce is the bomb! I've had a couple of their special fish dishes as well, never had a bad meal in this place. It's all prepared fresh and tastes great. To... More

This was a recommendation by a friend. I had always driven by the place. Inside was quite a lovely surprise. The restaurant was quaint and light was ambient inside. The food was fresh and hot. The live acoustic music was nice and not in your face. I will go back for a special occasion as it was a bit pricey... More

Seriously, Alexis really is a great waiter at this excellent very special and different Mexican restaurant unlike others in Phoenix. He is very personable and knows every dish on the menu. The menu choices are excellent; the food quality, preparation and serving showmanship are superb. The prices are reasonable. We had the Borrego (lamb) menu main and the evening special,... More
