I am not vegan but I don't have to have meat to appreciate good food. I went to this restaurant with a group of 6 people and not one person enjoyed there meal (3 of them are vegan). Simply nothing from the kitchen tasted correctly from pesto being over oiled, to the lettuce being brown. Overall this is a restaurant... More

The lentil burgers at Maracatu are tasty and very large. They are plated with salad, fries and burger fixings such as lettuce and tomato. If you are hungry and in Dominical, this is a good choice. The smoothies are okay but not the best we have had in the area. Unfortunately the wait staff at Maracatu did not seem interested... More

Came here with my husband, aside from the waitress who was lovely and efficient, and the pleasant setting; It was the pits- our worst meal in Costa Rica. I ordered the falafel sandwich, which although inoffensive was pretty average; untoasted bready pita, meagre falafel portion (salad to falafel ratio not good...!). The fish burger was atrocious. Firstly it was a... More

Our group of 17 chose to go here for New years dinner. We had reservations for 7:00 and arrived on time. The table was ready for us and the waitress took our drink order right away. At 7:40 we still had not received our drinks and therefore had not placed our order for our food. The waitress asked us several... More

Yum! We went here many times while staying in Dominical. Opens at 5:30. The patacones are amazing. Veggie burger (made with lentils) is very yummy with side salad and the best fries. Nachos are also loaded and yummy without cheese, don't forget the chocolate cake at the end!!!

The nachos were great! The yellow curry with veggies was tasty. The brown rice was different than what we make at home (might have been the quick cooking version). We ordered the "giant" salad, and it wasn't what we consider giant, but we eat HUGE salads in California. We will be back!

We had dinner in Maracatu and loved it! The day's specials were with a strawberry and red wine sauce, and a stuffed tomato with vegetables and tofu. It was really delicious, a little expensive maybe, but affordable. The desserts were delicious as well, and the waitress adorable.

Great atmosphere and decor. Also a great option for vegetarian eaters including gluten free. Waiter was knowledgeable about what was suitable and was very helpful overall. We only visited once but the food and selection was very good. We may visit again.

Awesome environment and service but terrible food. No flavor. Not fully cooked pasta or vegetables in my pasta promodo.

Maracatu has been providing Dominical with a one of a kind experience since 2005. We pride ourselves on having found the perfect balance of good vibes, healthy food, great nightlife, a warm ambience, varied world music and environmental responsibility. Every aspect of Maracatu has been created and evolved with a lot of care and intention.

As Hippocrates once said "Let Food be Thy Medicine," we are committed to provide as much local, organic, whole food ingredients as possible, often times coming from our organic sister farm, Selva Armonia.

Maracatu has also raised the bar on nightlife in the southern zone of Costa Rica. With a unique artistic ambience and a passion for good live music we have helped put Dominical on the map. Come check out Ladies Night on Wednesdays, the most popular night in the zone.
