We visited at the suggestion of our hotel owners, Steve and Kat, of La Fortuna fame. Traveling around Guatemala, often we hear that there is no 'Guatemalan' food, and if there is, that it is of low quality. Please, please, please visit Cafe Sabor Cruceño. We had the pepian, the kaqik and tamalitos de chipilin. With a traditional horchata to... More

We did a cooking class with Claudia here and it was a lot of fun! The kitchen has a spectacular view and you prepare a 3 course meal of traditional Guatemalan food. It's then served to you upstairs on the balcony overlooking the lake. The class was in English, the food was delicious. I highly recommend this!

Great view if you eat here. Takeaway food delivered to your door - order by three and closed on a Sunday.

Really yum food. Well priced. All run by students. Had the chicken sandwich and it was amazing. Family members had all other breakfast meals and loved them. Incredible view too!

We loved having lunch here. The service and food were great and the view was amazing. The kitchen and service is run by students in training and they did a phenomenal job. The food was delicious, fresh and very resonable.

Food is ok but the fact that they are teaching people to make food is a nice story. View is the highlight. Nice setting.

There is no better view of the lake than from this restaurant. The climb to the top of Santa Cruz gives an outstanding view. The food here is prepared by students from the culinary school on site. The students are very proud of their skills and deliver a wonderful meal. The smoothies are fresh and flavorful and the sandwiches and... More

We ate here 3 times: 1 Friday night for pizza, 1 Friday night for "tapas" and one lunch. The pizza was delightful and the evening was warm so we enjoyed the buzz and the views in addition to a fantastic pesto pizza. No one presented us a menu nor mentioned that there was a salad available so we were the... More

Had a great lunch that was recommended by the place we stayed. We enjoyed the Food very much and the concept of the business is great too. The view on the balcony over looking the lake was also a big plus. Make sure you get the plantains and Mayan chocolate for desert

Don't miss this place - it's a real treat. Delicious food, the best view on the lake and a great shop full of hand made Guatemalan crafts on the main floor. If you get a chance, take a cooking lesson with Claudia.
