This is an honest little hotel. It offers basic rooms; ours was very clean. We were disappointed that the restaurant didn’t have capacity to let us eat there. The staff are friendly. An ideal place if on a hiking holiday. It wasn’t what I would...have chosen but that’s no reflection on the hotel. Very friendly staff.More
The food was very good at this restaurant and our servers were excellent. we thought it was a very good value for dinner and they had good drink specials. We also had breakfast included with the room and it was very good. overall, a good...choice but a bit out of the way if you are not staying at the hotel.More
Excellent fish, my introduction to Iceland dic skyr (a frozen yummy in this rendering. Plus, a common snipe wandered past our dining room window.
Simple and tasty! Great lamp ribs good soups a really good surprise to have great food in a 4 stars hotel in southern Iceland.
We were on a great tour with Arctic Adventures and the first night we stayed at the Hotel Geirland. We were so pleasantly surprised to find such a nice place in the relatively remote area. We were a family of 12 so we took up...a lot of space (and a lot of air in the room). Arctic Adventures had told the hotel that it was my dad's 90th birthday so the restaurant suprised us with a wonderful cake. A perfect end to a perfect day in a perfect vacation week. Breakfast the next morning was also delightful.More
Professional waiters/ waitresses commited and passionate of their work. All served in great location. Happy hour is really happy! Worth it!
Travelling with Arctic Adventures (3-day tour) staying overnight in their little hotel in Kirkjubaejarklaustur, near the waterfall of the same name. The kitchen is very willing and able to produce nice food from a small menu -- lamb (rack or filet), nice cod rolled in...a green herb, soups, and even an off-menu dessert of fresh fruit and ice cream. Nice local bread. The twice-baked potato stuffed with spinach and cheese was great. A small wine list with a couple of economical by the glass. Attentive and friendly service. Fun and well done!More
Spent a night at Geirland in May. The rooms are very comfortable and the room clean and big. We went to the bar where we could choose from wide selectin of local micro beers. The we went for three course meal. The food was fantastic,...all three courses where great. Highly recommend to spend at least one night in this hotel which is located in the middle of the country site with horses, mountains and waterfalls around it.More
The four of us each had different entrees and all were great. The menu isn’t that big but there is something for everyone. Desserts are great, prices are reasonable, and go between 5-8 for some awesome deals on beer!
lovely meals as we stayed at the Hotel Geirland and ate breakfast and dinner here while on Golden Circle Tour. Lovely atmosphere, high ceilings, lots of travelers from around the globe. Excellent food and presentation. When we got our bill we were pleasantly surprised as...well!More
One of the top rated locations for dinner in K town. Nice restaurant in a secluded location. We had read about the lamb options and were interested to try it out. We ordered Boli and Gull beers, soups, and two different lamb entrees. The food...was ok but we did need to request utensils for our soups. The lamb filet was a small portion but cooked nicely. The lamb burger was quite delicious served with an order of French fries. We would recommend this place if you are looking for reasonably priced eats with Happy Hour specials (600 ISK beers).More
We stayed at a hotel down the road (about 3 miles). The restaurant at the hotel where we were staying was closed. The owners of the hotel suggested we eat at the Hotel Laki or Hotel Geirland. We chose Hotel Geirland and could not have...been happier. The food was fantastic. The staff was friendly and attentive. The price was right too! Great evening was had by my whole family.More
If you’re staying in the K town area, this is the place to eat! Super friendly staff, great food, and decently priced (considering Iceland prices haha). Their meat soup was delicious as was the Skyr dessert and lava cake. Really good place to relax and...have a beer after a day of exploring. It’s worth it!More
This beautiful hotel has a wonderful restaurant for guests and everyone else to enjoy. The food is great, lots of attention to detail and amazing taste! I just had the best birthday dinner I could dream of and the service was above and beyond my...expectations: Gabriela took great care of us from start to finish and we had a good laugh with a couple other members of staff! Welcoming and reasonably priced for Iceland and the quality of food served I would definitely recommend!More
