We cycle. Out of our way so that we can have a coffee in Maguire's cafe, normally a good experience. Absolutely incensed by their attitude and atrocious service. 15 minutes waiting for a waitress to take a very complicated order of 2 coffees and scones. Left because they ignored us. I hope things stay good for them, we were really... More

Maguire's is a fantastic place to get lunch by the Hill of Tara. The food was delicious - fresh colorful salads, good coffee and amazing house-made brown bread. We got a warm brownie for dessert. The prices are good as well, we got 2 meals with dessert along with a loaf of bread for €30. Well worth it!

I often visit The Hill of Tara and there's no better stop off than at the café next to it, Maguires. Yes it may be the ONLY café in Tara but this does not make it any less enjoyable. The menu is broad and the food is always delicious plus the prices are very reasonable. The staff are young and... More

A place I keep coming back to after a walk on the Hill of Tara, lunch or just a cuppa and a bun is always an enjoyable way to finish the experience.

For a small cafe there is a wonderful menu with lots of options. The food itself is well prepared and presented beautifully. The soup was fantastic and the bread was fresh. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and we weren't waiting long to be seated.

They didn't have water to wash the dishes you had to eat from a carry out carton. They also left another persons order at our table before they took it away again, abit of anon goal as the girls didn't seem to have a clue which orders were for any of the tables. In saying that, the breakfast bagle was... More

We were waiting for quite a bit for a table even though there were lots of employees standing around and talking. I asked if I could seat myself and was told no. When we were finally seated, service was slow. Why four stars, then? Well, the almond cake was out of this world, as was the cream, and it was... More

I've been to Maguire's a number of times and expect to return many more. I love their chicken Ceasar salad which comes with slices of their lovely bread that contains pumpkin seeds. I've also had just soup and bread, which is tasty and filling. Be sure to check out the desserts - there's lots of great options and plenty of... More
