We had lunch twice there before starting our hike in El Torcal. The lunch menu for EUR 8.90 including one drink is a great value. Nice terrace which unfortunately does not have a view over the city but does over part of El Torcal. The Porro (Antequera cold soup), the Berenejas or Calabacín fritos (fried eggplant or zucchini) and the... More

This is my wife's favourite place to eat in Spain. Fabulous location above the lake at guadalahorce. Food is typical Andalucía country fare, beautifully cooked and well presented

What a view! It is hard to concentrate on the meal with a view over the castle and all of Antequera spread out in front of you. Lovely steak and good service all for Euro 50 excluding alcohol. Good value and the view is free!

We had terrible trouble finding a restaurant in upper Antequera and were driving home when we found this restaurant. I had seen the reviews on trip advisor and we went in. We had the menu del dia which was obviously a mistake. The food was, to be kind, very cheap (8.50 euros each) and the meat was not great. We... More

We went to antequera because i had read it was a fabulous place to visit. No doubt the scenery is gorgeous and we visited a wolf sanctuary outside the town which was very impressive and informative and worth the drive alone (from Malaga city). After the visit we were famished and we spotted this restaurant which seemed to have fabulous... More

Visited here on Christmas Eve as part of a day trip to Antequera where lunch was included in the price. Quite a basic restaurant as people have said, the food was minimal, with meat, chips and salad, which was quite small. The pudding was creme caramel which was also small, but quite an adequate filler for a short time! Very... More

This is a basic restaurant on the northern outskirts of Antequera. Only two tables were occupied on the miserable rainy night that we ate there. Food and service was good - nothing fantastic but the 'eggplant with honey' was a real treat. Total bill including beer and wine drinks for two adults and two kids was 47 Euro, very good... More

Towards the end of our trip, we decided to eat here. It didn't look like much from the outside, but we saw some locals sitting at a table and that the parking lot was nearly completely full, so we gave it a go. We are very glad we did. While the inside was not much to look at, and the... More

I note that other reviews are quite old - this place has possibly changed hands. The Spanish reviews that are recent reflect my own view - i.e. the waitress was rude and the food was poor and expensive. There are loads of better places than this...move on and find one !

You do need to rise above the lime green plastic chairs on the terrace and ignore the smallish pylon in the garden, but the views are, as others have said, fabulous. The Patron does not speak English but is wonderfully friendly, and as others have said the food is great value. The house red at EU10 is a bargain (a... More
