A two night break at an old favourite, two super meals, a table in the conservatory, we enjoyed the venison special and the pork, with a whitebait starter good but not great, and a black pudding scotch egg, delightful. The second evening scallops followed by lumb rump, and a rump steak the latter was good not great. Apple crumble and... More

The food was ok. But the front of house staff were to busy worrying about there social life and talking about them selves and didn't notice that are plates were clear for 15 minutes they didn't even ask us of we wanted deserts.

We always visit the Victoria several times on every visit to North Norfolk on a recent visit we were somewhat disappointed by the same old menu and quality of the food. The staff are brilliant, we visited three lunchtimes and we hope our next visits will be more interesting, it was like going to a Cote very disappointing.

We stayed in the Victoria Inn on Saturday night and ate in the restaurant in the evening. We were seated in the conservatory, which is so beautifully decorated – smart and modern, yet cosy at the same time and very complimentary to the older part of the building. We love that guests are able to have their dogs with them... More

I ordered the Lobster Thermidor appetizer and it was mind-blowing! It arrived with a small cup of lobster bisque that you could dunk bread in...Ridiculously good. I also had the Seabass which was very delicious and my sister had the steak. She said it was excellent and it looked wonderful. The service was a bit scattered, but they were just... More

My first visit to the Victoria Inn for a while and an underwhelming experience. The food was acceptable. The wine wasn't poured but left on the table and the bread was really just semi fresh sliced normal bread. The food was reasonable. The biggest gripe was the number of dogs in the dining room. There was no mention of this... More

This place remains very "can do": we really appreciate this! Dogs (under control) welcome everywhere without fuss (and often offered a dog biscuit). We chose the Braised rib starter: beautifully presented and very tasty, then shared a Chocolate Brownie sweet course (great) and a pot of coffee. A brilliant stop-off lunch whilst walking the beaches, and recommended. Most waiters/waitresses were... More

My wife and I had lunch there and the meal was excellent. Also thought that the service was fine - polite and professional.

After a long walk on Holkham Beach we called in to The Victoria for a coffee and a sandwich. On entering the bar area the person behind the bar did not look up or attempt any greeting. Others walked around, not a smile or greeting. We asked for two coffees and the sandwich menu only to be told they do... More

Description
Standing at the gateway to Holkham and the National Nature Reserve, the Victoria is a classic English inn owned by the Coke family and managed by the Holkham estate. There are ten elegant bedrooms, the bar and dining rooms offer a relaxed blend of style and comfort. The “Vic” serves delicious locally sourced food, much of it grown and raised on the estate with a bold emphasis on freshness, simplicity and value. Holkham has been a leading agricultural estate since the 1800’s when Thomas William Coke bought the site and the young Queen Victoria elevated him to the peerage in recognition of his contribution to farming in 1837. The name of the proposed new inn must have been inevitable when it opened its doors in 1838. The Victoria re-opened in Spring 2013 following extensive refurbishment.
