the restaurants main claim to fame are its cornish pasties. I found them ok but not was not over impressed. I always feel that the pasties produced in ones own home area always seem the best! That being said the shop was very friendly, the pasties tasty and the seagulls certainly enjoyed the pieces of crust that i spared them.

Been going to Cornwall for quite a few years and have still not found a better pastie that the ones from here......the steak & blue cheese pasties are to die for......also bought some home to put in the freezer - well worth a visit

Having seen this bakery 'turned around' on the Alexi Polizzi programme a couple of years ago we couldn't resist a visit. Still a bit chaotic inside the shop we thought but the pasties were fab, so what the hell!

We were on a mission to try a variety of traditional pasties but we arrived too late and Chough were the only ones not to have sold out. Still hot from the oven, our medium traditional was stuffed with properly seasoned potato cut into squares rather than cubes, layered with good chunks of beef. The pastry was firm but thin... More

We went to the chough twice on our visit to Padstow. The first time we brought a box of mince pies recommended to us by the really friendly lady in the shop. The mince pies were amazing. Because of this a few days later we decided to pick a couple of boxes up as a gift for family. But when... More

This was our first trip to Padstow and was fascinated by the number of Pasty shops in close proximity of themselves. In fact there were 3 next to each other in one street. We decided we would try one for lunch and bought one from Chough's and sat around the harbour eating it takeaway style! It was very tasty and... More

I have been traveling down to Padstow for many years, and always feel the need to have a pasty at some point. Look no further, the quality of the ingredients is superb, and the prices remain good. A nice variety of options which as far as I can tell are authentically cooked.

On entering the shop "that apparently has award winning pasties" we were met by a very matter of fact and disinterested owner (the mother I think). Who asked if she could help. We asked for a cheese and leek, onion pastie. Would you like that warm she asked.. on saying yes please she promptly headed off and placed the pastie... More
