Really delicious- lots of local seafood on the menu as you'd expect, really nice chips, even the side salads were really nice. A bit pricey for essentially pub grub, but to be honest it was in keeping with other seafront menus we saw - I think you are paying for the view. And it's worth it! You can see the... More

Was very luckily to find a seat outside for lunch time. Waitress was extremely attentive yet gave us space to decide on meals and chat as a family. Never felt rushed. Views overlooking the sea and harbour is lovely however not many tables outside which I can imagine is a Shame in the summer months. Food arrived and was delicious,... More

This is a wonderful cafe on the sea front at Lyme Regis. Beautiful views, great coffee and lovely cake! Staff who served us were all very friendly and helpful. This is the second time we've visited and we've never been disappointed 🙂

We used the takeaway part of the business to get some fish and chips, we were surprised by the lack of customer service! The staff had an argument about their job roles and we saw two members of staff kissing behind the fryer!! We were so offended that we asked for a refund, which was reluctantly given! I think your... I absolutely agree! Please advise when you visited so that we can determine who was on duty. You can email me direct on info@bythebay.co.uk. All staff have been made aware of this unacceptable (and unusual) behaviour. Thank you for bringing it to our attention. It won't happen again. More

This was by far the worst place I've ever been. Literally, the two lads who shouldn't even be near a fryer as they were basically 12, they were arguing over orders and not wanting to work. Then some lass comes in, the lads hormones went through the roof and started getting it on. All I wanted was a battered sausage... More

It is a typical seaside restaurant, food was average but I was very disappointed with the sizing of the portions. My son had a small portion of mushroom strogonoff and I had a full portion which was basically the same size for an extra £5.00, however it was tasty.

From the outside it looks like a surf shack beach front type of restaurant. We booked and were told they were full but when we ate there were about ten people in a restaurant which seated about 40. Interesting special boards and a good menu so easy choices all round. Nice touch doing 1/2 portions of everything for kids. Starters... More

We took our chance at lunch time on a sunny Sunday in early April. There were thousands of people out and about and the resort was packed. Never the less we were given a friendly welcome and a table was found for us. The server was enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the menu and we had one plate of Gurnard and... More

This is a efficient family style eatery. We chose fish and chips which arrived promptly and the service was good. The meal included mushy peas, lemon and tartar sauce accompanied by a coffee and tea.
