We try go here once a year to Staithes twice if really lucky. Every night we eat here can honestly say never had bad meal here. Staff are so friendly. Maurice shop keeper never changes and that's what I love about this place nothing changes.

At first I wasn't sure from the outside, but once inside there was a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. For £21 for two main meals and drinks, I wasn't sure what to expect, but basically my only issue would be, that they actually don't charge enough for their meals, as what we ate was worth paying more for. We had the... More

Called in here on the Friday night of our weekend in Staithes. Traditional pub with good beer and good food. If your going to be picky you could say it's looking a bit tired but that's what gives it its charm. Opposite dotty's too. Do both. We did.

Initially you may think this is quite a dated pub, but I'd say more traditional and they allow dogs, which is great. Food was lovely and I can recommend the chicken parmo I think it was called, in breadcrumbs with sauce. But make sure you're hungry as portion size is huge. Also can recommend the children's meals, the steak pie,... More

The George is one of two pubs in Staithes. It's situated on the main road through the village, just a stone's throw from the harbour. We went for an evening meal and had fish and chips. The food was lovely - and plentiful; really well cooked. The pub itself was slightly jaded - perhaps needing a makeover to give it... More

Had a quick pint in here and the beer was good and well kept and we were particularly amused by the humorous leaflet on the wall giving guidance to patrons on how to behave and order beer and food. One of only three pubs in Staithes, the Royal George is pleasant enough and with a decent selection of real ales.... More

Dogs were welcome, so we're we! Food delicious. I always eat here when I am on the East coast. The staff are very friendly and I feel comfortable if it's just me and the dog.
