We ate at the Red Lion on both nights while staying in Alnmouth. It’s such a busy place that you really need to book to be sure of getting a table. We hadn’t but we’re lucky enough to get a table in the bar. (Last...More

Always seems busy - restaurant full on 2 occasions we tried. Sat in bar and had steak and ale pie. Also sausage and mash. As mentioned — big portions. A little slow to deliver the food. Friendly staff.

Popped in for sunday lunch and the meats were cooked really well. The veg was a little bland however. Children's menu was average - not much selection. A distinct lack of fish, which is strange from a coastal pub.

Very helpful staff, food was delicious, I would recommend the lamb with roasted vegetables, room clean and spacious, bed very comfy. I would definately recommend this establishment to others.

It's still very good, but every time we go there now the fish is Sea Bass. Fresh? Farmed? Wild or frozen from Lidl? Who knows - but they used to offer a Catch of the Day, which given that the pub is right on the...More
