Out of the ordinary place to stop have a look and enjoy a good cup of coffee or eat. There are books on sale adjoining the cafe, and if you are lucky you will see the cats that the cafe feeds, the ones we saw...More

Could be so much better (perhaps if more care was taken of customers than visiting cats?). Not a wide range of food or drink and we were told that of what there was "there's only one of these" (implying that we both couldn't have one)....More

It's a bit unusual with a west coast vibe. Good coffee and baked goods. Service was a bit slow. Attached to a cool bookstore

A good opportunity missed. In a great location, good spacious cafe with an interesting bookshop adjoining, this should be a great cafe. Unfortunately poor coffee, bizarrely unhelpful staff and far too prominent 90s House music detract from the surroundings and decent baking.

Had a takeaway cheese scone from here which was nice - so big that we shared it. Later in the week, we sat in and had a coffee and cake - nice. Very good value for money.

A great idea combining books, cafe etc. but this cafe turned out to be a disapointment. The tea and coffee were good though not outstanding. The cheese scones were not cooked enough and quite tasteless considering the amount of orange cheese which appeared to be...More

We had coffees and scones on a sunny Tuesday. The cafe has seating both inside and outside on a raised veranda. Lovely coffee and a great selection of bakes. We chose scones with jam, they are enormous, we should really have shared them. Although they...More

It isn't cheap, but it isn't commercialised either. A tranquil setting, different and ethically sourced coffees with home made cakes and scones. It's a quaint setting to wile away an hour or two. Don't expect your double shot in a paper cup with your name...More

These guys sell great coffees and hot chocolates but what I love is their massive scones with their amazing variety. I had a pear scone on my first visit this Easter (a few days ago) and today had plum! There are usually about 5 varieties...More

Sorr y - Nice concept, great books and loads of funky stickers / posters BUT your coffee burned my tongue , your cake almost broke my teeth and the bill hurt my pocket. Recommend more time spent on getting basics right i.e. Fresh tasty cakes...More

This cafe is recommended by Lonely Planet and could be fantastic. The view is good, The food looked good and some tasted good. I ma prompted ot review becase the service was very bad. The women in charge who I believe is the owner was one fo the grumpier people we met on a 5month tour of Europe. She was loudly critical of and to the young man working there, she was unwelcoming and ignored much of what we said to her. The coffee was ok but made with reluctance and an offhand attitude. We felt as if we were intruding in her space and a real nuisance -- at 11 am !!. We had driven out of the way to get to a place which we felt would be special place for a coffee. It was but in all the wrong ways. We are New Zealanders who do not normally complain but this place was worth complaining about.
