I'm always apprehensive when buying fish and chips on holiday. Will they be as good as the ones from our chippy at home? Fish and chips are generally good anywhere in Scotland but we've had a few duds. Not here, though. The haddock was fresh and sweet and delicious and went down well. The chips were golden and crisp, not... More

We had arrived at Gairloch after six o'clock & very hungry so we were pleased to find the menu from The Beachcomber inside the cottage. My sister & my partner went off in the car to get us some supper but apparently it is up an alley & you could miss it if you hadn't noticed the sign on the... More

I was here about 3 years ago and the food was horrible then. This year, the kids pestered me for a chippy so I caved which was a £20 mistake. Chips are like overcooked oven chips, the fish is far from fresh and very dry and chicken nuggets were dry and had a strange taste (I'm guessing everything has been... More

This is a take away only and is up an alley so look out for the sign on the pavement. Standard chip shop menu including black pudding and haggis all cooked to order. Good sized portions.

You need to follow the sign down the alley, but this is a lovely fish and chip shop, freshly cooked seafood and with choice of fish and all the normal Scottish favorites (haggis pudding, deep fried Mars bar etc.) NB : this is a takeaway not a restaurant.

All food is cooked to order, so it's as fresh as it could be. This does mean a wee wait, but it's worth it. Good choice, portion sizes are on the large size, good range of kids options too. Outdoor and indoor seating area around the back. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the mood for good quality,... More

Me and my parents had the Haddock and Chips in take-away boxes. The sauces, in sachets, cost extra. We sat out at the back yard to eat. The Haddock and Chips were really tasty, I ate the lot with my hands as no cutlery was provided. A group of foreign tourists came to the shop and obviously inquired about eating... More

We were visiting Sands caravan and camp site and decided on fish and chips for tea. Cooked to order. Lovely crisp batter. Would definitely go back.
