We were married at Ockenden Manor five years ago and were looking forward to our Anniversary stay. I imagine lots of people were celebrating something special, but our Anniversary was mentioned on booking and on arrival. A half bottle of wine or a card in the room would have made us feel 'special' but unfortunately a lack of warmth to... More

Alright. It was alright. That's the most I can say bout this place The staff were a bit surly The tea and sandwiches weren't great compared to the price we paid. It's the local grandparent haunt.

Ate twice in the restaurant at Ockenden Manor , food was very good, but service was terrible & let the kitchen down. Really enjoyed the food, menu very nice with great choices. In particular I loved the Foie Gras. Nice choice of fish on the menu. Smarten up the service & the experience would be so much better.

Visited recently for dinner, breakfast and tea (stayed in a spa suite, rather than the main hotel) and had a fantastic experience. I'm picky about service, but here it was spot on - staff knowing who ordered what, being knowledgeable about the products and perfectly polite. Excellent place to eat at, and a brilliant kick off to my 30th birthday... More

Special birthday meal for my fiancée - nice treat for us, the food was nice and amazing service- nice to treat yourself from time to time. Cheeseboard was beautiful Wasn't worth 5 stars as for that price point I have eaten at better places

I went to this restaurant with a friend for lunch on her birthday. Its a very old building with stone floors and open fires, full of character as you enter. The set menu for 2 courses was small, priced at £22.50. We opted for main courses and dessert, as we did not fancy the 2 starters, which would have been... More

Have been previously for dinner but this time we popped in for lunch. They had a choice of menus from a fixed price version, a 6 course tasting menu and an a la carte. We opted for the tasting menu which was extremely good - we wanted to change one of the courses due to a shellfish allergy and that... More

My wife and I had our second visit in January to celebrate my birthday. Nice old world surroundings, wood beams and open fires. Pre dinner drinks took a while as staff seemed to be rather sparse. Once we got into the restaurant proper things improved. Service was impeccable. We ordered an 8 course tasting menu and it was a succession... More

Small cosy dining room but lightly bit dull Very keen young wine trainee who clearly enjoyed sharing his learning! Wicked flight of wines - we tried both flights on offer
