Beautiful pub - modern and traditional - loved the display of Scottish seabirds. We popped in for a bite to eat Sun evening with our dog . Very relaxed environment with a selection of ales and lagers . Staff were very friendly and welcoming and food was very tasty and generous portions . Would definitely return !

After Christmas shopping in town we decided to lunch near where we stay and also we wanted a "pub" lunch. Very basic food scampi and chips lacks atmosphere and not the place we use to know, years gone passed you could hardly get a table changed days! Won't be back.

Dear Julie R I am totally mystified as to why you have left it 3 months to post this utterly pointless review. How do you expect us to respond to a complaint after such a period of time. However, I will address your completely unfair comments as best I can. To describe our scampi as 'basic' is both ludicrous and... More

Great service and a wide variety of food. Loved the beef and mustard soul of the day. Also tried the haggis nachos which were great too. Ham eggs and chips were nice. Good selection of beers and wines. Nice view over the golf course.

Always good Great food locally sourced and freshly prepared! Comprehensive menu with a variety of foods from around the world including some real local favourites like haggis and its world famous sticky toffee pudding! Some of the food on the menu is quite expensive, however overall a good place to eat and enjoy the evening. They also include a trip... More

Reviewed a few months ago and the owners son left a response to our feedback that shocked us. Not what you would expect to keep custom but we went back and tried again. This use to be one of the better places to eat in East Lothian but has been let down of late by the quality of the food.... More

Dear Louise. I have decided to respond to your comments as I feel that they are unjustified. I have checked my son's original reply to the first review that you left and I am mystified at your reaction. He was courteous and clear in his reply and in no way disrespectful so to be shocked!! is an over reaction at... More

We went to the Old Clubhouse on a cold January Monday and were made very welcome. Big log burning stove made the large room warm and cosy and we had a good 'pub-type' dinner. Great atmosphere and friendly service

Our group had a great evening. Lots of variety in the menu and the food really was excellent. We ate in what might be called the dining room to the right of the main bar area as you enter. Certainly somewhere we will return to in years to come when playing golf at many of the amazing courses in the... More

Had a great night here Christmas Eve for catch up drinks. The place was busy and had a great atmosphere. Met up with my sister and her fiancé who had a meal there that night. We love this place and feel so lucky that it's right on our doorstep. Wishing you all a Happy New Year 217 🍾🎉

Have been dining here for many years and can honestly say everything on their menu is of the best quality. Very homely place to eat and enjoy friends.

A great pub that we found by accident as we made our way towards North Berwick. Beautiful inside with a nice cosy atmosphere. We all had the prawn sandwich for lunch which included chips and coleslaw. Alternatively we could have had a choice of soups with it or salad. The staff were very friendly and the service was quick. A... More

The Old Clubhouse is situated in central Gullane, overlooking the locally famed links course. Built in 1890, this attractive half-timbered venue was originally intended to be a meeting place for Gullanes golfers, and though the club soon outgrew it, The Old Clubhouse remains popular with those fresh off the greens and maintains the exclusive ambience of a members club, with its reputation for fine food and warm welcome spreading far beyond the town itself. Unsurprisingly, a strong golfing theme is seen throughout the bar, with plenty of old photographs of the course and the club as well as quirky memorabilia dotted around the space, cosy club chairs and deep banquettes providing comfortable seating, encouraging you to stay and relax beyond your meal. Drawing on local produce, The Old Clubhouses menu is eclectic and inspiring, particularly known for its steaks and fish, the central offerings of the mainly pub-food-with-a-twist collection of dishes. The wine list is as well considered as the food offerings, and The Old Clubhouse has recently become known for homemade ice creams and sorbets, the ideal treat after a hard morning of stick and ball.
