We came for lunch here after several months away from Ullapool and were pleased to find that standards were consistent. The inn is in a superb location right on the loch-side. We had a window table and had marvellous views especially as there were snow-clad mountains in the distance. At lunchtime the inn serves soups and a range of casual... More

I like this pub. I know the hotel has lousy reviews. I see that the food may be a bit hit and miss. But if you want to sit in a pub that feels like a big warm welcoming room with a fire, a bar with very striking barmaid, and an amazing view from the window, I think it has... More

Food was OK with some of the specials sold out - they were the draw for us but 'settled' for other menu items. Leans towards local seafood cuisine as you might expect. Selections were nothing special - distinctly average. Dining area was adjacent to smelly toilets which wafted in every time someone opened the door. For this reason alone would... More

We have eaten here on several occasions and always found the food to be good, especially the fish chowder and other fish dishes, so in general I would always recommend it. However on this particular occasion we went for dinner, entered the bar and were met by a really strong smell of urine. We mentioned it to the lady at... More

Title says it all really. Along with our table being by the fire escape, which locals use as a general exit.....my partner actually had to stop eating and move to let 4 of them leave!!! Rude!!! Bar staff stood and watched, disinterestly - sums the place up really. Won't be back.

Was visiting Ullapool and popped in for a coffee and snack.Obviously very quiet as it was the closed season. We had starter mussels and soup as a snack. Both were okay.Seemed a good atmospheric pub, which I am sure is a popular haunt for many.Nice touch with the open fire.Great views of the loch and hills worth it for them alone.

Warm welcome, live fire, excellent local food and good beer. Do you need more? Well there is also a view of the sea and hills.

We didn't even eat here but this pub caused some interesting debate between my wife and I!! Stayed in Ullapool (which we loved) whilst on an NC500 adventure. Arrived from Durness late afternoon and dropped into this harbour front old pub for a quick drink. I was delighted to find Brewdog on draft ( the only pub we found en... More

Popped in a for a drink while staying in Ullapool. Great atmosphere and really good live music. A 'Johnny Cash Duo' (with only Johnny) who was surprisingly good. The Ferry Boat Inn has hardly changed since I was first there in the 1970s. We didn't eat but the food looked yummy.
