Spent a couple of evenings here with friends on visits to Crickhowell - great evening both times. The food we had was of a very high quality, the atmosphere in the bar was warm and friendly and the service was great. Really enjoyed our time here. If you are visiting Crickhowell then I would highly recommend a visit, you won't... More

Lovely atmosphere great food, a lovely place to get together with friends or special occasion dining, shame they reserve table at bar for locals when it is busy we were there for hours and it was still empty.

Fab place..our bedroom was huge with real beams in the ceiling? huge candelabra and 4 post bed &Jacuzzi whirl bath. Food was delicious n presented lovely on huge white plates.. Plenty to choose from on the menu, plus the added benefit of being locally sourced means your guaranteed the freshness n taste one would expect. We spent the remaining of... More

Recommend by the owner of the hotel we stayed at. Glad we chose this place to eat. I had sirloin steak was absolutely delicious, my partner had chicken supreme which she also described as delicious. For desert it was vanilla creme brûlée followed by a nice liqueur coffee. If you are in the area you wouldn't be disappointed if you... More

Have eaten here a couple of times and the food and service is exceptional. We had a traditional beef roast (offered as well done or rare) on Sunday, followed by 'to die for' desserts, particularly the pannetone bread and butter pudding. It was very busy but we were served in what I considered to be a very reasonable time scale.... More

This historic pub has a great atmosphere, food and beer but spoilt by a snooty barman so I rate it average rather than good.

We visited the Bear Hotel for lunch and had a most enjoyable experience. The main menu was varied and even the afternoon menu (from 2:15pm) had plenty of choice. The food was presented as one would expect in a high class restaurant, even though we sat in the bar with our dog. The dog was given a bowl of chicken... More

This is a really popular place and was heaving when we arrived around 7pm on a Saturday night. Bar was a little cramped and not helped by locals who hugged the bar with their drinks. The service was prompt and the food really good.
