We drove 300 kms there and back to see Luderitz from Aus. Don't bother! This town seems unreal, there is no one there, it is the most depressing town ever. The food is appalling too! Everything is closed at the weekend and you even have...More

The drive out to Diaz point is the best part. All there is at the point is a light house, a few abandoned buildings, a broken swing bridge and the Diaz cross.

We were there in June and it is definitely closed. Sad! The Dias Point in general needs help with an upgrade. The footpath to the cross has fallen apart ant the balustrades are rusted through. An important part of history deserves better!

Visited in may 2015 ... closed .... no longer in operation. I was advised this was due to the senior age of the owner and being unable to find good staff. Only a camping area now.... disappointing for sure

You have to visit the coffee shop to experience it for yourself. No cash registers and technology - everything is still done by hand. So be patient with the service and enjoy the character. Good cake and "old school" service. This is how it was...More
