Hidden gem for sure!

The place doesn’t look like much but we found it online while looking for out of the way places to go to on vacation. It was amazing! We were greeted by some locals gathered at a table as we walked in as well as our waitress. The food was simple but great, really great. Everything was cooked perfectly. The service was excellent, very friendly. Like having a meal at a friend’s place. We may never be through this area again but if we are I’d love to try lunch. The area itself was very pretty, right on a lake. Don’t look at it and drive by, you’ll be missing out.

Excellent breakfast and friendly folks!

This is a little hole in the wall that is right next to the RV Park at which we spent the night. We had heard that they had great breakfasts. So, the morning that we were leaving, we tried it out. Just what you would expect from a little hole in the wall, but clean and a large and varied breakfast menu with very reasonable pricing. Apparently the lady who cooks has been there for years, and the waitresses are also all locals. Very friendly. The portions were large and everything, including the eggs over medium were cooked perfectly. Friendly local folks inside the cafe as well. In fact, in chatting with two men at the next table, we even made a connection to a mutual acquaintance on our street in Ocean Springs MS of all things! If you’re in the area, and they are open, stop in to eat!

So glad we stopped. The best breakfast we’ve had since traveling though Arkansas (and it’s served all day) beautiful lake view right across the street. The inlet was amazing as was the French toast! If passing through stop and give it a try it’s not your average bait shop!

Don’t let the appearance fool you!!!

This was recommended to us. I probably would have never found it on my own. It’s not the most attractive place but it makes up for it in food. LARGE portions, good prices and made from scratch food. Wanda the waitress was full of information about the area. We hope to make it back soon.

Great River Road? Worth the detour!

Thank you for a fantastic lunch! My husband and I were travelling the Great River Road and popped in for a break from the road. Delicious home style cooking in a charming setting. We strolled down to the lake for a walk after our lunch. Spotlessly clean with really friendly service. We were made to feel like regulars despite being very clearly out of towners. Order the Cajun fries-they’re delicious!

Stopped for lunch because of the rating on TripAdvisor. Was not disappointed. Food was great and more than enough One suggestion I have is that LJ should change their closing times on the website. We decided to stop for breakfast on our way back on a Sunday morning because it was by listed as open at 8 o’clock. Arrive there at nine and it was closed. No one was around.

Absolutely love LJs

I live about 10 miles out of town, and LJs is the closest place to grab a bite. I love it. The Philly cheesesteak is flavorful and cheesy. Their burgers and chili dogs are tasty and they are liberal with the fixings. The service is prompt and attentive. The fresh cooked pork rinds are worth the drive alone. The only problem I have is that I never make it in time for the chicken and dumplings special! One day...

Dauohin Island Trip

M sister and I were on our way to Dauphin Island We wanted to eat at good, local restaurants and cafes. I must admit we were a bit worried about the “bait shop” and “ cafe” service. However we took a left turn, followed a slow tractor and made it to the cafe. We were not disappointed! My sister said the fish was the best she has tasted in a long time. My cheeseburger was huge and delicious. Come hungry and you will not be disappointed.

Great for breakfast or lunch. Absolutely the best hamburgers in town. The breakfast is really good and the lunches are good, too. Don’t expect anything fancy and bring cash because they don’t take credit cards.

Great place to eat!

This little cafe has excellent food and the service is wonderful! I had great hash browns with cheese, eggs, and sausage. The coffee was also fresh and the waitress kept me supplied. I came back for lunch and got hamburger steak and gravy. It was served with vegetables. I enjoyed visiting with my family and many of my friends came in also. It is a great atmosphere. We

My family loves the food here! a friend and I had the most delicious fish sandwiches along with onion rings yesterday! I love that they always have fish dinners on Friday because of Lent for me! Great for breakfast, brunch or lunch.

Opened the door turned around walked out

The door posts a sign, cash only. Opened the door peaked in and decided to skip it completely. There is very little to choose from in lake village and that's a shame because it could be a good recreational spot but looks like no one wants it that way.
