After traveling for 2 weeks we came to Tupkaek beach. There are 5 resorts and a few small restaurants. We expected that all prices would be at least double compared to other places. But hey, it is a beach and pretty remote so logical that prices are higher.
Today we visited the Tupkaek Seafood restaurant. The food is nice, like everywhere in Thailand, but not amazing, like we had in some places.
However, what bothered us most is that the portions are smaller! For example, a bowl of steamed rice for 175 bath is relatively expensive. But when the portion comes you should get more then a one person portion. The mango salad was similar. Expect higher prices and small portions when going to this place.
Tip: next door is Mama Kitchen and Moon Bar. Same prices, better food and normal portions!
Tip: there are no ATM in Tup Kaek Beach so bring enough cash and shop for crips/candy upfront, otherwise you need to raid the minibar.

Withing walking distance from the resorts in Tub Kaet beach, this restaurant offered nice and good quality Thai food all day long and became our favourite option for dinner during our stay. We dared trying some spicy dishes and they were truly thay. Prices are lower than in the hotel, although at Krabi "tourist" high level, way higher than what you'd find in a street market or other areas of Thailand (for instance, tad pays around 200bat). Careful when the tide is high, as the beach connecting with resorts disappears and you need to be careful with crabs on the way back.

The restaurant was perfect! We preferred to sit indoor so the children wouldn't start building castles in the sand while we had our breakfast but instead they chose to cuddle with the cats that belonged to the hotel. As we stayed at the Baan Tubkaek Hotel for 5 days, I did eventually get bored with breakfast as it was the same set menu and there wasn't a buffet option. They had a menu for breakfast but didn't have the croissant and cereal available for the children on all days, we then requested for it and they ensured that it was made available for the rest of the days we were there. The menu at the restaurant is not restricted to only Thai food and we welcomed the occasional burger with fries.
I didn't particularly have a favorite dish as all that we ordered was good.

Tucked away into the far corner of the Tubkaek beach is a small Thai seafood restaurant. We enjoyed the freshest king prawns, lobsters and white snappers at Tubkaek Seafood with tamarind sauce if fried or lemon and ginger if steamed. Coupled with a bottle of cool Chardonnay, and a small scoop of ice cream for desert, the check was never above 2,000 batt.
The hosts make you feel at home with the their bright smiles and warm hospitality, so you never hesitate to order the food you really fancy. The hosts never boast of the quality of food, but always deliver!
The “fluffy residents” led by a Siamese cat with the bluest eyes are always there to welcome you. Songbirds in cages add to the quaint atmosphere.
In a high tide, the waves are almost washing the outdoor patio producing an illusion of customers sitting on a ship deck.

We found this lovely bar and restaurant when walking down the beach. Fantastic selection of Thai foods and also western foods if you crave a steak (which was beautifully cooked) . A fantastic selection of fresh fish on display and the shrimp are huge.
Great selection of drinks and cocktails
The meal worked out at £20 a head including beers , main dishes, vegetables, cocktails and coffee.
The best thing about this place however is the service. Absolutely excellent

Friendly and helpful staff.
Delicious food. We went to the restaurant twice. We ordered pad thai with shrimp (very good), rice with pineapple and shrimp, spring roll, fried fish fillet and beef with soy sauce. For dessert, mango with ice cream and sundae. Everything is very tasty and fresh. Quick service.
The view is perfect and you literally eat with your feet in the sand.

Great food at very reasonable prices. Added benefit of a 4 bed Thai massage parlour beside and behind the restaurant offering wonderful massages at very reasonable prices. Watch the sunset or listen to the waves crash on shore while eating or having a massage.

The restaurant is located on Tupkaek Beach, and is (almost?) the only restaurant that is not part of a resort or hotel. We ate there 4 times in 4 days. We were very satisfied. Compared to hotel/resort prices it is reasonably priced. The portions are not super large, but you order several dishes to share. Staff are friendly. In short, highly recommended if you stay in a hotel on Tupkaek Beach.

We ate here for several lunches and dinners during our stay at the boutique hotel a little way up the beach.
Every single meal was excellent!
We had satay, tempura prawns and the money purses off the starters … all delicious
Soup was tasty and the market king prawns wonderful
Would definitely eat here again. We thought some of our best food while on our travels
Aoy and all the staff were attentive and very interesting to talk to.
Oh and the wine was very palatable and great price compared to other places,

This is a lovely, friendly beachfront restaurant restaurant serving tasty dishes with a fantastic view.
It was great to stroll down the beach for a spot of lunch or an evening meal. All the dishes we had were delicious and very well presented.
The soups are a meal in themselves with lovely flavours and come highly recommended.
There is also a great tour desk operating from here as well, Fine Day Tours, Yoy is very helpful and we did three excellent day trips with her.

A beautifully decorated beach with a Valentine's theme. The staff works hard and is super friendly. Unfortunately the food is very substandard and too expensive for what you get. Very thoughtfully, all the ladies received a rose because it was Valentine's Day.

Admittedly we went on the first day of Songkran during Covid season when the number of customers were unpredictable.
But that was no excuse for waiting an hour for a plate of overpriced kway teoh and a few sticks of microwaved chicken satay. Especially when the restaurant was barely a third of capacity.
We tried to cancel after 40 minutes of seeing various mishaps around the other customers orders but were assured all was on the way promptly. 5 minutes later the microwaved chicken arrived and we had to wait another 20 minutes for the other simple dishes we ordered.
The one cook visible in the kitchen and her assistant may have been capable, but they were not helped by the owner and front of house staff who failed to communicate and warm beer was the final downer.

Better food and much better prices than what our boutique offered. I wish we had come here for all our dinners, but only ate here one evening. Situated along the beach, it offered a view of the ocean at sunset, crabs meandering below, and the occasional cat. My husband enjoyed the beef satays, and I loved the flavor of the Vegetables in coconut milk soup. The fried spring rolls were excellent too.

We spent 5 days at the Banyan Tree next door. After eating there once in the evening and everything tasted of nothing, we looked for an alternative and found something great in Tubkaek. Typically Thai, super spiced and decent portions for little money. All the staff were very friendly. You sit barefoot in the sand and have a view of the sea - you can't get much better than that!

We ate here twice for dinner and loved it .
Great value and run by lovely ladies. Delicious wine too which was a bonus! All home cooked and everything we tried was excellent. Good Phad Thai and all seafood dishes super tasty but squid with lemon sauce a particular highlight. Watch crabs on beach as you eat too!
