The pub itself is lovely, it also has a nice little beer garden at the back. We sampled some beers and had a ploughmans, they have a great selection of cheeses and the portions are generous.

Found this in the good beer guide after visiting Burling Gap,glad we did. The beers from the Long Man brewery up the road are excellent, food pretty fine too. Well worth a detour up the country lanes.

Good food though a bit too copious for me. Not expensive, warm friendly service with clean tables. Dogs welcome which I like. Very varied menu choices. Own car park so no parking on the narrow road facing the pub. Will go back.

We visited over the August Bank holiday when there was a beer festival in full swing, with free music and lots of outdoor sitting, full of families and couples. Great atmosphere and dozens of beers available. Extra car parking had been provided which was excellent.

We visit this place quite often and have never been disappointed. If you want to eat you do need to book as it gets very busy. Lovely staff, lots of character and good food. Hopefully will still be going for many years to come.

We had lunch here today in the garden. Always a busy pub but we didn't have long to wait. The menus are extensive, the food (and quantities) are excellent, the service always with a smile. Sadly, after lunch, one of our party collapsed and we...More
