Friendly Ramen shop

The ramen we ordered for my family of four was delicious. The grand lady of the shop welcomed us with a smile and bid us goodbye after we finished the ramen. We visited it way back in May 2019 and I'm glad to learn that the sweet lady is still busy welcoming and entertaining her customers!

Popped here based on the reviews and it was very good. Quite busy when we called but managed to get squeezed in. Food was very tasty and great value. Service friendly and felt like your custom was really valued. If you're an international visitor be ready with some inspiration for the visitors book!

Disappointing

It was located very near our hotel so we dropped by for lunch. It was a popular ramen store so we decided to try it even though I'd never quite like ramen from Hokkaido. There was a queue and the staff was friendly but the ramen did not get me excited. Very average.

Family run and open early

This family run store opens early enough for breakfast Ramen and is just a short walk away from Jr asahikawa Station. The staff are very friendly and food yummy.

Tried the local ramen here, very tasty!

Comfort Food

When I came in I was greeted by such a nice old lady who asked me where I came from and gave me a fan to keep myself cool. It was a warm day in Asahikawa. The ramen is great, very much on the salty side and very rich. The chashu is smoked perfectly

Asahikawa is famous for their shoyu ramen. Ramen Aoba is one of the established old ramen stall in the town, serving delicious thin noodle ramen. although taste is not as strong as what Santouku has offered, the light shoyu with pork base broth give you a balance between light and rich taste. Owner and staf are extremely friendly. The stall is just about 200m from the famous Santouku shop.

Delicious Ramen

Couldn't decide which ramen store to go to so I tried Aoba and I the ramen tasted really good. The soup wasn't too heavy, and my bowl was completely empty after my meal!

The owner was very welcoming and tried his best to communicate in English. They have a guest book that they ask all overseas visitors to sign. The ramen was not, fresh and had good flavor, and come with its own piece of nori pronged with the restaurant's logo. I would recommend the soy sauce soup base over the salt soup base, much richer in taste. Overall a good experience. Between 800-1000yen per bowl of ramen

Lovely ramen in family run restaurant

My wife and I had very good ramen meal here. Friendly owners included three generations, who told us the history of the restaurant. Some english spoken and had picture menus.Recommended. Enjoyable

Surprisingly good

An impromptu visit to Aoba as it was near to where we stayed (JR Inn Asahikawa). It turned out to be a very small stall tucked in 1 corner with a homely feel. We were asked to leave a feedback in the guest book and was told to remember book #103 if we return again, so we can look back at what we like about Aoba ramen. Had ordered the char siew soyu ramen, the soup was non oily and isn't salty. The char siew is also well flavoured and lean, blends well with the noodles and soup; every mouthful was full of rich flavours. They are also selling their very own inhouse instant ramen set (soup + noodles only), good for those who did not have enough of it. I will recommend this place and will definitely visit again when I visit Asahikawa.

Due to language problems the owners even shown hand sign - that he is grateful that we come so far to taste his Ramen. You can see the warm, the smile of his his face.

Easy place for food
