Lovely old pub with locals enjoying a drink and well behaved dogs lounging around on the floor. Staff friendly, efficient and informative. Food sublime.

Invited to celebrate an 80th birthday we drove from Stratford upon Avon to The Butchers Arms, situated in the glorious Gloucestershire countryside south of Tewkesbuty close to the river Severn. Lovely warm welcome for us and the dog, delightful atmosphere and decor, terrific food from a really interesting, varied and mouth watering menu and even Wye Valley beer from the... More

First time and this place blew us away. Fabulous setting and idyllic English Country Pub. Sunday Lunchtime visited for my wife's birthday. Best meal eaten in a long time. Freshly cooked food definitely up to Michelin standard. Prices reflect that but hey well wort it. Great atmosphere and excellent service.

We have visited The Butchers Arms twice now and we are so lucky to have it so local. After visiting numerous Michelin starred establishments around the country, we think the food here is great. We enjoyed the informal, cosy simplicity and the friendly staff made us feel welcome and comfortable. Everything is about the food. My tall husband found the... More

This is a real gem in the middle of nowhere!! Staff were welcoming, nothing was too much trouble and the food is truly outstanding. Of course, they have a Michelin Star - but no wonder. It's cosy inside but we liked that and boy, do they know how to serve great food and wine. We weren't complaining, but somehow my... More

As I only go to Michelin starred establishments I have high expectations. They did not disappoint, this is an excellent restaurant! You must go with an open mind when going to places like this in rural locations and emerse yourself in what they have to offer. If you do you will have an enjoyable time.

We're lucky in this area to have access to a number of Michelin star restaurants offering fabulous food but none offer the amazing food showcasing simple local ingredients, without the starched linen and crystal glasses, that you will find here. The Butcher's Arms is a rural pub with scrubbed wooden tables and low beams where you can still find locals... More

What a treat, this establishment deserves every accolade bestowed on it. The staff are warm, friendly and enthusiastic about the wonderful food on offer. No stuffiness here, just wonderful food and a friendly atmosphere. Four of us tried a variety of starters, mains and deserts and each and every one was faultless. We look forward to returning.

We were a party of six, warmly welcomed and shown to our table by the log fire. As soon as we sat down jugs of water were placed on the table, drinks were ordered and menus handed out. The food was superb and the service was quick and very efficient. We dine out as a group regularly and this has... More
