This was a go to lunch place... you had your choice of a dozen different types of dogs on ultra fresh buns with excellent sauerkraut, diced onions and several styles of mustard. Unfortunately, it is now a pizza place. Alas and alack...

Great dogs! Slightly surly (in a good way) service. Nice variety, too. Honestly, I'd take a Top Dog over Gray's Papaya any day of the week! Having lived in New York City and Chicago, not to mention some of the "worst" eating spots of Europe, Top Dog is well worth the visit. Basically unchanged in the twenty (plus) years since... More

This was recommended to me at a giants game. I got a chicken dog and veggie wiener dog. Veggie dog is a tad spicy which is good! The staff is nice. Characters hanging out there interesting. Condiment bar awesome with kraut, relish, and mustard. It's great if you are a hot dog aficionado by all means go!

Top Dog was one of my favorite restaurants as a student from 1982-1986. Nothing has changed in 30 years. I go back every chance I get. The hot dogs are amazing. I always order the Top Dog and the Hot Link. Both are grilled to perfection and are served in an incredible bun. I load them up with mustard and... More

Great hot dogs and sausages serving generations of Berkeley visitors. In my opinion they served the Best dogs in town!

As good as described by a friend :) A must visit when in Berkeley. Price was reasonable as well. Odd thing tho was it shared a door with a smoothie place beside it and wanted to use the restroom but wasn't allowed to by the smoothie place coz I was a TopDog customer

6 different kinds of wurst and then some. Hot dogs don't get better than this. A drink, a dog and a bag of chips for 5 bucks! It doesn't get better than this!

Top Dog is a Berkeley tradition. Its one of those places students go after studying for a late night study break. We have visited a fair number of times and their hot dogs and aausages are the best. The conversation is lively; service is good. The sauerkraut is to put on the dogs is good as well. It is affordable... More

If you are ever in Berkeley go to one of the Hot Dog locations! Great selection of "Dogs" and other treats. A real Berkeley Icon. I've been going to Top Dog since 1968 and have never had a bad experience. Highly recommended!

Best hot dogs and sausages in the area, and that I have ever had; period! This place is awesome, really quick service and every type of hot dog that I have tried so far has been awesome. If you haven't been it is definitely worth trying out. Last quarter we used to go once a week because it is just... More
