I was staying at the Portofino Inn next door to Franks and paid a visit here on a couple of occasions and was never disappointed. The breakfasts are great, especially the corn beef hash and the service is excellent. I was also told that the opening scenes of Pulp Fiction was shot here which made it even more appealing. I... First of all, this coffee shop has good food and service, with daily specials. The location has regular customers that come back regularly. This coffee shop appears so "typical" in downtown Burbank, that it is a regular TV/movie shooting location. Such TV shows as CSI and Scorpion have used this location. Tom Hanks found this location for the movie "Larry... More

This is a breakfast place; not a steakhouse. It is right next to our motel making it accessible when the breakfast window at the motel is a short 2 or so hours. The restaurant gives you the vintage aura of the past. Even the menu has that yellowish, vintage look. Prices were on the higher end. The waitress hardly smiled... More

This is not a steakhouse. It is a coffee shop open from 10-3. The pancakes and omelets were outstanding. The fried potatoes were different from anything I have had before. They were more like a potato pancake, yum! The coffee was excellent. The prices are a little on the high side (it cost $80 for my family of 5).

I tried to take my wife there because I remember it was a good place for a tasty chicken-fried steak. We were seated, and given a menu. The prices were very high, and chicken-fried steak was NOT on the menu. We were two of about 8 people in the place. We didn't like anything on the menu, so we got... More

Walk in and there's the brown vinyl seating from a bygone era. I loved the atmosphere! Lots of windows. The four of us in our party were seated quickly( it wasn't busy at this time of the day). The waitress was very nice/attentive. We ordered pancakes, eggs/toast/hash brown combo and an eggs w/corned beef hash, coffee and teas. Cost was about... More

Another place I've been going to since childhood. This place has been around forever, but of course ownership has changed hands. It's the sort of place to get a typical coffee shop meal that is going to likely be a bit on the diner/greasy-spoon side, although there has been a real chef working there at times who kicks it up... Meat and potatoes with down home service. If you are post-modern, this isn't for you. If you are pre-modern (like me) and think good movies ended when John Wayne retired, this is the place.

If you expect more than diner food you're not going to get it. Classic diner food, good but relaxed service. Doesn't have that Denny's feel.
