A small place where barely 20 people can dine. However, tasty Bhutanese food. The Pork Paa is delicious - but do tell them to put more pork and less potatoes !

It is located in the main town in middle of the market. The owner is a old lady and is very nice. The food was tasty. The service was good too.

This happened with us on last Tuesday that is 11th of April 2017. 1st Event: We went, sat and ordered our food. The waitress said your order will take 30 minutes as there are 10 guests coming and the kitchen will be busy in preparing order for them. We were just back from the Taktsang trek and were really hungry... More

We visited here for lunch and we were very pleased with the quality and variety of food- so much so that we booked to dine here the following day. This was quite simply the best food we had in 10 days whilst travelling through Bhutan. The owner and staff were all very professional and spoke excellent English. Also, the restaurant... More

Since we were not served food at the hotel where we were staying, we had to venture out for food. Among the many places that we discovered, Hotel Sonam was worth a review here. We ordered veg food, chinese and north Indian which were excellent! We landed up having food about 3 times in as many days at Paro. The... More

We had lunch at the Sonam Trophel three times while in Paro, and had delicious meals each time. We had the chef's special blackened pork one day (had to give the owner a day's notice!) and she prepared a special Indian meal for us the next. Very friendly. Might want to make a reservation, as there are only a few... More

Great place, really enjoyed the food. Ema dasti the Bhutanese staple dish is delicious. We also tried Chilli chicken that was good though a tad oily. The French fries were I feel double fried and not to my liking. The service takes long and be prepared to wait 45 minutes for your order.
