The bartender is perfect. The dirty martinis were so good, I wanted to invite him to come live with me. We went here with a local friend and were delighted-fantastic wine list, phenomenal service, delicious food. Cozy place with awesome food & service = home run.

I seldom give a 5 star...if dessert had been better it woulda been 5. Amazing food matched by terrific service marred only by a disappointing dessert. 5:30 reservations on a Sunday...quiet. I'm glad it was quiet as the tables are really close together. I was seated and greeted professionally and with gracious personality. Menu made my mouth water and could... More

We had such a nice time at Grasings, recommended to us by our hotel. Both the meat (lamb) and fish (seabass) were beautifully prepared, with great complimentary vegetables composed beneath. I think the thing that impressed me the most was the flavor, both delicate and bold in seasoning and herbs. Lovely wine choices, excellent service. It could not have been... More

Arrived late in the evening and got a place in the bar. 2 of us ordered fish&chips which was very good. The 3rd of us ordered the hamburger which was ok, but not great. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Proposed the Roar Pinot Noir which was excellent.

My wife and I dined here last Friday Night. Asparagas Soup, Grilled Skirt Steak, and two glasses of top rate Pinot Noir. Excellent Service.

We tried to make a reservation for 6pm and was told they could only take us at 530 or 830. We chose 530 and arrived on time only to find that we along with one other couple were the only on s in the restaurant. We were walked back outside to reenter in the back of th restaurant and were... More

We had lunch at Grasings on the patio and it was good as expected. The patio allows dogs and there were two well behaved dogs enjoying there treats with their "people." The buger was one of the best I had. Pricy but it is in Carmel.

The wedge salad alone was worth a visit here. We always enjoy sitting in the bar area and ordering from the bar menu.

This was a lovely restaurant and bar. The food was delicious and arranged attractively on the plates. My husband had the prawns with angel hair pasta and I had the halibut w/lentils. We both thought the food was excellent and so was the service. The owner came to our table during the meal and personally congratulated us and sprinkled confetti... More

Based on the review commenting on "Perfect Anniversary Dinner" - we booked this for our celebration. It could not have been more remarkable. The setting, food, and service were outstanding on their own - and having the card, confetti, and special attention made it a memorable evening.

Description
As a restaurant with an impressive contemporary menu, Grasing’s offers the finest coastal cuisine paired with a ‘Wine Spectator’ awarding winning wine list featuring the best California wines. For a true Carmel experience, enjoy dinner on the pet-friendly patio.

In March of 1998 Kurt opened the door to his namesake restaurant: Grasing’s. In an impressive first year it received enthusiastic reviews and was voted Best New Restaurant and Best Chef by the readers of Adventures in Dining Magazine. Grasings has been featured in Bon Appetit Magazine’s Best of the Year issue in 2004, and was awarded Carmel Business Association’s Business of the Year award that same year. Carmel Magazine proclaimed Grasing’s the Critic’s Choice. Grasing’s was awarded Carmel Business Association’s Restaurant of the Year as well as a Celebrated Chef of the Year Award from the American Culinary Federation – Monterey Chapter, in 2007. In 2013 Grasing’s was voted Best Restaurant in Carmel by the readers of the Monterey County Weekly. Carmel Pine Cone Readers Poll named Grasing’s the Best Restaurant for a Steak in 2014 and 2015. Open Table diners conferred a 2015 Diner’s Choice Award on Grasing’s and Trip Advisor has given Grasing’s a Certificate of Excellence in 2015 and 2016. 2016 also brought Grasing’s a win for the Best Restaurant for a Special Occasion in 2016 from the Carmel Pine Cone Readers Poll.

In 2010, Kurt revamped Grasing’s by constructing a new bar and lounge along with completing a restaurant make-over. The warm hues and contemporary decor in the restaurant and bar gives Grasing’s an even more inviting atmosphere, giving it a new look with the same great food and first-rate service to which guests are accustomed.
