Stopped here tired and hungry. It was perfect for our needs. Service was friendly and reasonably efficient. They brewed fresh pots of regular and decaf coffee for us. The food was very good - grilled cheese sandwiches and burgers. Bathrooms were clean. The gift shop...More

Quality and pricing does not invite to another visit, I think they only stay in business because of their location.

Having nearly run out of petrol driving across the desert it was great to find this coffee shop adjacent to the filling station. Good service, very nice decor and a good cup of coffee!

I have been here multiple times. I stop at this place every time I head to California from my home south of Tucson. This cafe and the truck stop across the street has everything I need for an overnight stay. The family that owns this...More

Ate lunch here after exiting Joshua Tree NP at the Cottonwood exit. Not sure why this restaurant gets such good reviews unless it is because it is the only game in town. It's just a deli--neither very good nor very bad. Would not recommend eating...More

The food was typical diner food, blt, burger, tuna melt - not particularly inspired but decent. A solid 3. But then we had dessert - which bumped them up to a solid 5. My father had an excellent apple pie which was served warm. I...More

Going West into LA, or East to Phoenix, the long drive can easily be broken up by a stop there. Good classic diner chow, served in a clean restaurant. Life is hard out there in the middle of the desert, so their oasis has to...More

My wife and I have eaten in the restaurant before. On a late Saturday afternoon, we stopped to break up the trip monotony. I had a BLT with a cup of chili, she had a ham and cheese sandwich. Both were tasty, cooked and great!...More

Are you talking about the residence where they have Catholic services? or Perhaps the Patton Museum?

I believe they would allow primitive overnight parking but to the best of my knowledge there are no hook-ups anywhere. I know there are areas where trucks park overnight.

In 1933, Joe Chiriaco opened a gas station and general store on the newly-constructed U.S. Route 60 highway. Since then, the area now known as Chiriaco Summit has grown to include an airport, a museum dedicated to General Patton, and the Chiriaco Summit Restaurant. This family-friendly diner offers a welcome rest stop for travelers journeying through the desert with friendly service and some of the best food in California. In addition to great coffee and atmosphere, the Chiriaco Summit Restaurant also offers a variety of breakfast items on their consistently-updated menu. The burgers at this casual dining restaurant are especially delicious, earning them a reputation far and wide as the best place for locals and visitors to stop and grab a meal. For variety, they offer daily specials of home-cooked dishes made from the freshest ingredients, and have a refreshing selection of ice cream and frozen drinks to help diners fight off the summer heat.
