Worst service ever. Worst service. They intentionally made me wait one hour and 30 mins to pickup my phone order while serving others

I was a frequent customer of Shalimar restaurant in Freemont about 12 years ago and enjoyed the food quality. This was my first visit to this restaurant in Dublin, and found the food quality much less than previously. Their BBQ chicken tikka and seekh kababs...were the only two dishes I liked of the many dishes ordered. The curry meat snd vegetable dishes were not tasty as they lacked the genuine taste. Their naans are huge and extremely tasty. It is a quick stop for someone who wants to get some pseudo-Pakistani food at inexpensive price.More

No ambience, but you wouldn't go to this restaurant for that. You go here for good food, and that's exactly what you get. Try their Nihari - that's awesome. Servers are very humble, and treat guests well. You can also try Chicken Jalfrezi and/or Chicken...Karahi. We love Chicken Tikka Masala, but that's not one I will order here.More

This place is a hole in the wall but the food is incredible. I loved everything, the tandoori was excellent. This place gets packed as the evening goes on.

Love Shalimar food. This location has better service than Fremont Shalimar and is much cleaner. Recommend this place for good tandoori food.

Good food and decent quantities. Go for taste and authenticity but keep your expectations for service low as service level and quality is minimum to non-existent. This is a no frills restaurant. The food is mostly suitable for takeout. Yes it is dirty and the...table tops are sticky but the food is authentic and finger licking good. This is not a place to take someone out on a first date. This is a place when you are in the 12th year of your marriage have 2 to 3 little brats that are running around, screaming and crying while their collective noses are running. But you still want to go out and enjoy some spicy food and not care about what others will think about your manners and your loud kids.More

Wow, I'm really glad I found this place! The food is outstanding, especially for the price. Also, it's a nice place to visit. It's always busy and has very authentic feel. You can be sure it doesn't look like yet another American chain and it's...a good thing in this case. It's also good for take outs.More

Tried Shalimar for the first time last weekend. It is a Pakistani (halal) joint. Pretty big place with ample seating and minimal décor/ambiance. But you are going there for the yummy food!! Counter service where you order at the counter and then grab a table/booth....Food came to our table in 10 minutes. Delicious tandoori chicken, kebabs and chicken tikka masala. Huge round naans. But the star of the evening were the awesome lamb chops. Perfectly cooked; tender to eat and flavorful. We loved every bit of the food served. Plus Indian masala tea on the house. Prices very reasonable. Will absolutely go back when in the area.More

One of my favorite place to eat or take away food in bayarea. They got few locations in bayarea. I have tried couple of times at Fremont and San Francisco. I am regular at Dublin location. They specialize in kababs, biryani and other non-vegetarian dishes.

Shalimar is an iconic place for great good. If you are looking for ambiance, there is none, it is cafe style. But food is why people go. I have visited it many times as it is favorite with my family. Being vegetarian, I find they...have a good selection too. The cost is always reasonable. Great for take out tooMore

Drastic cost cutting to raise profits with prices remaining same is a big NO-NO in the restaurant business and Shalimar (3 in the bay area) have fallen a victim to it! We ordered 4 entrees, a Mango Lassi and 3 Onion Kulchas for the 4...of us and could only get a tablespoonful each of the entrees, just not enough food at any price. The Goat Kadhai was mostly bones. The Kulcha gets a 10. However there was no a la Pakistan flavor in any of the entrees. Must say, the server's service beat any 5 Star restaurant service. One more dead restaurant in the bay area, a victim of its own doing. Really so Sad!More

One of a chain of several locations Shalimar sticks religiously to traditional Pakistani cooking with tasty favorites like Beef Nihari, Chicken Haleem, Palak (spinach) and Chenna Daal which is my favorite seldom found on menus now a days. One orders and pays at the counter...and your order is promptly brought to your table. Average tab per person under 12 bucks for a good tuck and you are on your way out in 30 minutes from their private parking lot. Can one ask for anything more?More
