Had the most wonderful time here for my father's birthday. We brought the kids (ages 10 and 5) and they just ooh-ed and ahh-ed throughout the experience. The food was fabulous as well. Highly recommend for special occasion or just to add something special to the normal mix.

Let's start with the bad stuff. The place is extremely noisy and almost impossible to carry a conversation except with the person sitting right next to you. I also wasn't impressed with having to wait 15 minutes past my reservation time to get seated. Now the good. The ingredients all seemed top quality and fresh. Go for the combination plates... More

Usual cramped communal seating around a large griddle where entertaining knife-flipping chefs prepare your food. Service is good. Food is great. Chefs are entertaining, but I've seen better. It feels a bit worn and a touch shabby, but maybe that's part of the gestalt. I like it.

We took our kids here for their birthdays for years. The chefs really like to entertain the table and the food is excellent. Be ready for the only real dessert is sliced pineapples, but they are yummy.

This place is a little hit or miss. The food is good, well seasoned, and entertainingly prepared in front of you. The restaurant interior is a downer. There is a strange odor of cleaning solutions and food mixed together when you first walk in. I suppose they need a strong cleaner with all the food being prepared openly in the... More

The staff & chef were delightful, the food was good. Our group ordered the Hana Special, the Teriyaki steak, the chicken (we asked for it Teriyaki style), salmon (also requested Teriyaki style) and calamari. We all enjoyed our meals and the birthday entree was free! I would definitely come back here again.

The ingredients are fresh and the atmosphere is great. We've never gone away hungry and enjoy the shows put on by the chef's. They do a good business yet we've never had a long wait. This is a go to place for a birthday celebration, graduation, promotion, or other special occasion. The kids always have a blast! Birthday's are good... More

Our local family birthday spot. Free meal for the birthday. The staff and chefs are all very good and it makes a fun evening for all. I also enjoy mingling with the other diners at the table. Food is ok, would prefer better cuts of meat, but for the price and atmosphere we will keep retruning

Its not Benihana's, however its the next best thing too it. Japanese style grill, with all of the flare. Worth a visit.

I can not compare to Benihanas because I'm not willing to drive to Concord. Hana Japan is a neighborhood restaurant. It's not great and it's not horrible. We go for the cheesy novelty. I've been here a dozen or so times, all with parties of 6, 7 or 8. I wouldn't recommend coming with less people. Min 7 to have... More
