I am always disappointed when I go to a restaurant with a great reputation and am not blown away. The service was good, the atmosphere is great but the food was not exceptional. I had the chicken and waffles as a main course. The chicken was moist with a crisp coating. The BBQ sauce was extremely ordinary and the waffles... More

The food was not great but tolerable ; however the service was horrible ... we were never asked if we wanted something to drink .... the waitress was rude ... presented her a discount coupon n she "forgot" to deduct from our bill .. when new customers came in she sure was friendly n very courteous ... to these customers... One route to Portland, one had to make this stop to Eureka and the famous cafe. The place is authentic, charming and the owner exceptional. The food is out of this world, freshly cooked, spiced and grand portions galore. The owner is a humble lady wtih LA origins and history of rich/famous Hollywood encounters.....well.worth a visit. One would say that the lovely... More

The menu clearly listed a number of excellent gluten free choices and the staff were knowledgeable about Celiac Disease. The food was amazing and the portions where huge!

When we first sat down we were a little uncomfortable with the prices but decided to give it a go because of the reviews. Thank goodness we stayed! They give you heaping piles of the most amazing spicy Cajun you will get your hands on! Dont miss this!

If you like great people and good home Cajon style cooking, do not pass this by. The owner is a wonderful woman, the chef(s) do a wonderful job of preparing her delicious original recipes. I could eat there every day if it was in the budget. Prices are very reasonable, portions are large and you will leave fat and happy.... More

My son and I decided to stop over in Eureka during our trip down the coast. I found this restaurant through Yelp and am glad we went! The decor makes you feel like you're stopping into a family home for a great meal. It was clean, bright and Miss Janniss (the owner) came out to say hello. The clam chowder... More

Visiting Eureka, I decided to try this restaurant because they offered a different way to serve tofu. But don't fear, they have far more meat options. But if you are looking for vegetarian options, this restaurant does offer some selections. Many of their foods are a hot spicy, but you can ask about less hot food. I chose Mamma's spicy... More

Loved this place. Funky and fun. I had the Jambalaya. She warned me it was spicy but I live spicy! My husband had the Ahi and said it was the best he's ever had. The wife waits the tables and is very efficient. I asked if they would considered moving to the El Dorado Hills/Folsom area. We need a restaurant... More
