My son introduced me to Freebird's during one of our dinner dates. He told me to get the beef quesadilla, which was REALLY GOOD!!! My hubby ordered the burrito which according to him was also excellent. The line at this particular restaurant was long, it was worth the wait. Much better than Blaze Pizza and Pieology, which we also tried.

Gorgeous sunny day ..sat outdoors and this beats student union and most on campus dining. Missed the graduate and LOVE Woodstocks.. this place is not cheap for what it is..but we all wolfed down our tacos burritos and nachos.. walked from Campus, walked to beach, charming and clean downtown with only 3 smoke shops.:( habit and Starbucks close by, parking... My favorite burrito. This is nothing like the chain locations elsewhere. This is the real deal. Get a chicken burrito and be sure to get BBQ sauce. It's not a sweet type sauce - more tangy, and it goes great with pico de gallo and cilantro. Completely awesome. Nachos and quesadillas are also very popular here (and likewise enormous). If... Do not be fooled by the chain of the same name - this one is the real deal. Best burritos, nachos, and quesadillas! Chicken is better than steak here. Get lots of the BBQ sauce, which is unique and reallly delicious. Be warned: the food is huge. Nachos easily feed 2-3 people as an entree. You can request a whole... More

This is the original location for the chain. My girlfriend went to UCSB and we try to head out that way at least once every couple months. We always have to stop at free birds, normally get it to go and then head over the the drive in theater nearby. Makes for a great way to finish off a beach... More

While visiting the UCSB campus for a college tour, we were looking for a local lunch spot to give us a feel (and taste) for the UCSB campus life. We were directed to Freebird's and were treated to wonderful burritos overflowing with meet and other toppings. Although we did not try the nachos, that looked to be another tasty bargain,... More

A burrito for the ages. Fresh ingredients to choose from. Chicken or steak. Save your appetite for this one or cut in half and save for another meal. Delicious. Only negative is limited seating and parking. If you like burritos and tacos , you need to come here. Not much else on the menu for good reason.

A few friends recommended this place, so after dropping off our child at UCSB for a summer camp, we went for lunch. Isla Vista has college town charm, Freebirds in in the middle of the action, fun to people watch, but the food was average. Large portions in the regular size burritos: too much for my wife. Nothing was bad,... More

fast service, great taste, wonderful surprise, if you are hungry and in a hurry, they will serve you fast enough with a great burrito, the quesadilla is great too.
