We stopped overnight in Groveland on our way into Yosemite. We were looking forward to a great meal on the Iron Door as we've enjoyed on previous visits, but due to a huge thunderstorm earlier that evening, power had been lost and the kitchen had been closed. What a shame that we couldn't enjoy our usual fish and chip supper.... More

Stories by the dozens. IF the walls could talk. Had one of the BEST (in my top 3) Bloody Mary's ever... New Orleans, Portland Maine and now Groveland Ca. Made by Kevin - I think there was something about Bar-b-Que sauce.... almost edible! Not to miss!

This was a fun place, with some local character. We enjoyed the band and beers, tossed a few dollars at the ceiling.

Dinner was good but they have a limited menu. Atmosphere is good. This is a combination bar and restaurant. The place is old with an old style setting showing pictures of the surrounding areas history. Resonably priced.

This is a traditional american saloon. Lots of character about the place and perfect to have a drink or two after a day exploring Yosemite. We also ate in the restaurant which has a varied menu. The burgers are fantastic btw!

Quirky place but good drink and food. We came twice, once just for drinks, listen to live music and play pool. Band was perfect for the setting. Pool was, well, challenging but fun. Between missing balls, crooked cue sticks without tips and pretty worn table we had a blast. Very relaxed atmosphere. Food was very good. They even had vegetarian... More

The typical american Saloon. We enjoyed the meals a lot (vegetarian options available, like the garden burger) and the drinks (local beers and specially the Woo Woo). Live music on stage and free pool for your entertainment.Great place to chill!

On your trip this is a must see, the bar is from 1852 and i would suggest talking to the locals who have amazing stories to tell. They are very welcoming to us tourists and would enjoy finding out where your from too.

We passed by the Iron Door Saloon and decided to check it out on our way back. We are very glad that we did. This is a very interesting stop with lots of historical references and information. The food was great as was the very friendly and accommodating staff. The Buffalo Burger was fantastic.

Thank Brad S
