Atmosphere is what this was all about. Food was fine and the hired help was awesome. Dollar bills on the ceiling was definitely a conversation starter.

We ate here two nights in a row while staying nearby. The place is certainly quirky, retaining the style of an old saloon. The banquet seating was probably from the mining era as it was all patched up! Plenty to look at while you wait...More

Had to eat at the oldest saloon in California. The food was ok. My husband had a steak which was pretty good. I had fish tacos they were OK. I recommend having a drink at the bar. It’s worth checking out. Cool old saloon.

We had a drink- a bit pricey but worth a stop in historic bar. Bar keep explained why there were dollar bills on the ceiling!!

I felt like I stepped back in time, when I entered. But, the food and brews were delicious. It’s a terrific place to stop as you drive through Yosemite.

The oldest continuously operating saloon in California, this bar/ restaurant has great memorabilia. The food is mediocre. If you’re in Groveland, it’s worth checking out.

We drove through Groveland on the way to Yosemite from San Fran and noticed the Iron Door. We made it a point to stop by on our way back and weren't disappointed. My son and I ordered burgers and my wife got the soup and...More

Good place to stop for a cold brew and pretty impressive BLT sandwich on the way up to Yosemite. The locals are friendly and the bartenders are quick with a cold pour. The town is picturesque and offers a fun and interesting place to stretch...More

My husband and I went to have lunch here. It’s one of the only places to sit down and eat in town. The place was very old and rustic but offered a good scenery and things to look at while dining there. There was only...More

Loved this place! We stayed in Groveland prior to going to Yosemite. We had a drink in the bar the day we arrived, service was fantastic and the locals chatted away to us. We loved hearing how the money on the ceiling came about. Back...More

Maria, Is somehow hard finding this type of establishments open on Christmas, pretty sure the 26th they will be open. Perhaps you should call them just to confirm (+1 209-962-8904). The Yosemite/Groveland area is nice... More
