Great Patty melt. Apple pie was a big disappointment because there was not enough cinnamon, which made it bland, and the crust was like leather, not flaky at all.

Old West decor and nice atmosphere. This place seems to be very popular . Good breakfast . Goldminers special - two fried eggs, bacon & cheese on a croissant and you can substitute potatoes, But this is really the place to come for a piece of pie or a take out of entire pie.
We stopped here for lunch on our way back from the dessert blooms in Borrego. Portions are big and service fairly quick even when busy
My husband and I were visiting our son and his family in San Diego county. We took a day trip to Cuyamaca Rancho st. Park and then went to Julian for part of the afternoon and dinner. It is a lovely town with interesting shops and local history. We had dinner at the Julian cafe and bakery. My only complaint... More
Had eaten here several times before, so stopped in again on the way to see the desert wildflowers. Very good service and delicious tuna melt sandwiches for both my husband and me. He had fries and I had the coleslaw side: excellent! He had a diet soda served in their cowboy boot glass, while I had black coffee, which was... More
Rustic western decor, cute place. Moderately priced, service was good and staff was very friendly. I just had a regular burger as part of combo that included a piece of apple pie a la mode. The burger was good, cooked properly as requested. Coleslaw was very good, light dressing. My partner had the Julian apple burger that had chopped apple,... More
Breakfast was terrible. Asked eggs over easy and well done. They took them back and brought back undercooked. Toast dried out and burned, Potatoes overcooked and tasteless.
We visited on the morning of foggy march 23 before heading out to the superbloom. There was only one waitress and she was running the place like a superwoman. The pancakes were huge and delicious and my husband really enjoyed his biscuits and gravy. The childrens' pancake came out in the shape of a Mickey Mouse, which my kids loved.... More
we were in the area for the desert bloom at anza-borrego; as were a lot of others. we had to wait about 15 minutes to get table...... the food was fine - as was the service. I am sure they were tired from the somewhat unexpected throng of desert visitors. it's not fine dining - good comfort foods.
