Definitely want a window table if inside and against the railing if outside on the patio...great views from either. We were here for lunch. Food was ok. Ordered a dozen oysters that were from Washington state. They were bland, warm and lacked any of the...More

Relies on its location to attract suckers ehh customers to dine on poor quality food. The only thing you get from this abomination is 'crabs' itself, The wait staff should try looking for a job they actually enjoy and not just a place to earn...More

Stopped here for lunch after getting off the La Jolla trolley tour. Wanted to eat with a view of the water and this was perfect. I ordered the fish tacos and they were some of the best I’ve had. Service was also very good. Would...More

We had the seafood platter for two. A whole lot of food for sure. Found it to be a bit pricey but the catch definitely tasted fresh. You have to get there early to get a view though as we asked and were told another...More

We had a late lunch here and tried the salad, grilled octopus, crab cakes and stuffed mushrooms. The view was excellent but the food was only ok and we left hungry. The salad was pretty flavorless. I wouldn't come back for those prices but it...More

Stopped here for a drink since it was Happy Hour & the sign said Ocean View. There was actually only a couple tables that were close enough to the window to really have a view. Waitress was attentive but not really friendly or polished. Seemed...More

A special place in terms of location (overlooking the cove), staff (extremely friendly and attentative) and the food is delicious. Definitely try the crab cakes. A must visit when you are in La Jolla.

Stopped by for Sunday brunch. We all had Crabby Bloody Marys which had a great crab claw in it. Fun! My wife had the crab cake sandwich and I had the fried fish tacos. Portions were HUGE and the food was really good.

We treated ourselves to this gem of a restaurant. Despite a last-minute booking (after seeing their advert on the hotel TV channel upon arrival), we could get a table in the limited outdoor space facing the ocean shore. The food was delicious and the service...More

The food is delicious and the view is amazing. My husband and I had an early lunch out on the patio. He had the eggs benedict, which are his favorite. He commented that the eggs were done perfectly and the sauce was amazing. I had...More

Just call the Crab Catcher and tell them it is your Anniversary and that you want a window seat, and they will reserve it for you. That it exactly what we did in advance.

I agree with what appears to be a consensus -- no dress code and not a dressy place, but it's a nice restaurant in a very upscale community, so "smart casual" is good.
