There's Champagne and there's champagne. This place sells the cheap Californian sparkling wine not the real french Champagne such as Dom Perignon, Krüg or Cristal which we're used to in Europe. Be warned if you're paying $10 then you're getting the knock-off fizz.

First of all, I used a groupon coupon, and so it was a discounted meal. But NOT a discounted experience! It was wonderful from start to finish! We were in San Diego for a conference and wanted to have a special seafood dinner. And I've...More

I made a reservation on a late Friday afternoon for dinner and was able to get a 6 pm table. Made me a little nervous as it was virtually the ONLY restaurant in town that had anything available before 8:30. No worries. Although they were...More

My expectation for this restaurant was really high, since the advertising would suggest that this place serves high end seafood based on the prices. Unfortunately based on the menu our group was a little disappointed. We had fish tacos and crab pockets which were nice....More

Based on the menu, I was expecting a fancy seafood dinner but I left a bit disappointed to be honest. I had crab cakes and while they certainly weren't bad, I've had better ones elsewhere. The same comment applies to the calamari. Finally, the colleagues...More

Excellent location at the cove provides indoor and protected outdoor seating with a great view. Service was excellent. The menu allows individual choices for all courses you may want. Crab bisque, crab club, and crab cake sandwiches were all very good. Lots of wines and...More

Beautiful venue with a glassed in, heated patio. Friendly, professional, attentive staff. Especially with the prices and their reputation as a place to prepare seafood well, I was a bit disappointed. Got seafood trio of tiger prawns, mahi mahi & king crab. The accompanying veggies...More

Just call the Crab Catcher and tell them it is your Anniversary and that you want a window seat, and they will reserve it for you. That it exactly what we did in advance.

I agree with what appears to be a consensus -- no dress code and not a dressy place, but it's a nice restaurant in a very upscale community, so "smart casual" is good.
