Easy walk from our hotel, Capri Laguna. Best baked empanadas and grilled beans. Quaint friendly restaurant.

My grandson took us there last night. By way of orientation, he is a likable young man who is a gourmand. Too much money and not enough taste, but we love him. He raves over Maro's. That by itself was enough to make me worry, but I had no alternatives, so off we went. This is a hip place, tiny,... More

Had dinner last week with a group of wine friends, and overall I was very happy. The empanadas and grilled shishito peppers were just great. My salad was very good and huge. My only concern was that my lamb chops, while delicious were very small. There were three chops with about 2 bites of meat on each. I just wanted... More

Our experience started in the parking lot. We were waiting to pull in when all of a sudden a Humvee pulls in front of us and blocks the parking lot. We ended up parking in the other side of the street and had to cross a dangerous road at night. We then noticed the rude woman driving the humvee was... More

Had a friend in from out of town who is a meat eater for sure. Took a look at what might be just right for her and it was a hit. The restaurant is very small with most of the seating in a protected outside deck. We had reservations but had to wait a bit, not too long (It is... More

A friend and I had a luxurious and peaceful lunch today at Maro Wood Grill in Laguna Beach. We were warmly greeted by Stephano and seated in the shady and open garden of the restaurant. Lemon water was served to us right away and then a crisp Argentinian Sauvignon Blanc. We ordered mushroom and spinach empanadas and Okra and Edamame... More

We stopped here for drinks and apps and really enjoyed it. Most tables were outside and it was pretty warm. It would be nice to have some fans outside. The drink prices were pricey which I'm used to in SoCal but were quite a bit higher than similar establishments nearby (i.e. same exact wine was $4 more). However the empanadas... More
