My wife and I had lunch yesterday. She had a huge cobb salad. With lots of stuff. Can't believe she ate all of it! I had the burger basket with vegetable soup. Burger was large and cooked medium rare. Has to be the best burger in Long Beach. Have had most of the soups and all are wonderful. Stop in... More

the food is pretty good but they do promote themselves as a dive bar with some live music. The neighborhood is ... up and coming. Not a terrible area but, i guess, a 'normal' kind of neighborhood.

Was lucky enough to be introduced to this restaurant by my cousin who lives locally. Jamie, our hostess for the night was fantastic and even remembered us and our side orders. The meal was just as fantastic as the service. A truly authentic steak house to visit when in Long Beach.

Treated family, cocktails, wine, six large plates of meat, soup, salad, garlic bread and pudding. Meat portions large, couldn't finish my prime rib. The bill just over $200. The night before for 4 just under $200 and not as much food, can't go wrong.

The service was amazing, I had the fried chicken cooked to perfection. My partner had the prime rib, Med rare which he every bit of with a smile. Once you get past the decor this little Gem is sure to bring a smile to your face.

Went to lunch last week and decided to have something a little different. Ordered the calamari. WOW! Have had it at many more expensive restaurants and this is just as good if not better.

The Prospector is a great neighborhood bar and grill. The food is excellent and very reasonably priced. Possibly the best hamburger in town, and, cooked to order. The steaks are delicious. Daily lunch and dinner specials. Homemade soups change daily. The clientele is mostly middle class and very friendly. Lunch at the bar is always filled with good conversation. The... More

Visiting the area to see my bro and bro in law, they suggested this place for its character, it's characters(!) and consistently good food. They were right on; my catfish was fresh and plentiful as was everyone else's dinner choices. Service was great and hubby enjoyed his tinis! They were packed on a Friday nite but everyone was smiling and... More

We came in from off the street and didn't want to walk thru the bar...so we shut one door and came around to the other...well you have to walk thru the bar to get to the restaurant part. Ok...once inside we ordered a steak for me...fried chicken for my wife...and something else I can't remember for our niece. The waitress... More
