Starting with extremely tasty chips, we moved on to excellent empanadas. The mango shrimp tacos, unfortunately had tasteless mangoes and unremarkable shrimp. The beef tacos were very good. The flan desert was very good. Better than average food and service. Join their vip club and get 15% off or a free main course through the end of February, 2017.

This is a place that offers other Mexican food- not your usual taco and burrito place. I had the achiote pork slow roasted in banana leaves with honey lime yams roasted brussels sprouts • pineapple jicama salsa.IT was wonderful. We had group of 20 people with advance reservations and set up for us to select from a limited menu. However,... More

The Chips and Salsa are great. 3 kinds of salsa. Margaritas aren't bad for house. Get a shot on the side and your good to go. Nice service as well.

Good fresh Mexican food. Nice outside dining area. Good crevice duo. Interesting burger with poblano pepper. Recommend both.

The Border Grill is a downtown institution, that has expanded over the years to add restaurants in Las Vegas and elsewhere in greater LA. Although not spectacular, this is a good downtown spot for reliable, modern Mexican food. The menu is extensive and a prix fixe open is also available. There is both indoor and outdoor seating.

I wasn't expecting anything other than your run-of-the-mill type of non-authentic Mexican food. However, loved everything served. The salsas for the chips were fantastic. Ordered carne asada tacos and were they ever savory. The beef was high quality, super tender, just yummy. Prices are a little on the high end, but worth it. Service was great.

Came here for lunch during training in L.A. The food came out quickly and had a good flavor. I ordered it a mojito and it was okay. The server was very attentive during the beginning of our meal, but disappeared later. We learned that they were transitioning the table to a new server, which was strange because we came during... Very polite and friendly staff, nice beer, good wine. They have a nice and various collection of beverages. The tacos were original, kind of fusion cuisine, with citrus, etc... The place looks nice as well. I recommend

I was looking for a place near downtown that had a menu that was a little different. The Border Grill certainly fits that description. It's a little pricey but so is everything else in DTLA. The food was tasty and wasn't the normal Mexican bill of fare. There is a parking garage next door and the restaurant does validate.
