Very polite and friendly staff, nice beer, good wine. They have a nice and various collection of beverages. The tacos were original, kind of fusion cuisine, with citrus, etc... The place looks nice as well. I recommend

I was looking for a place near downtown that had a menu that was a little different. The Border Grill certainly fits that description. It's a little pricey but so is everything else in DTLA. The food was tasty and wasn't the normal Mexican bill of fare. There is a parking garage next door and the restaurant does validate.

On our way to the L.A. Opera at the Music Center, we stopped here for a solid meal to fortify us for a 3 1/2-hour performance. Starting with the Peruvian ceviche proved the best choice of the evening--tender, succulent pieces of fish lovingly marinated and served on fried plantain strips. My shrimp tacos were beautifully made, served on small corn... More

By picking a number of items on the Happy Hour menu, we never did get to the regular dinner menu. Everything we ordered was quite good.

There is something slightly sterile about this place, like the sort of restaurant where white middle class people go who know nothing about Mexican food. Service was outstanding but both our meals were bland and lacking in character or flavor. Also, it's expensive for what you get - $17 for three tacos / $23 for a quesadilla. Margaritas are very... Border Grill was a great place for a casual Cal-Mex meal with teens in tow right in downtown LA. Service was prompt, if a bit hassled, and the outdoor seating was a welcome option on a warm evening. Chips and salsa, enchiladas, tacos, and margaritas all hit the spot, and the menu was well-marked with gluten-free options, always great to... More

My wife and I enjoyed a cooking demo here a few years ago and enjoyed the wonderful smells, fun people and the Two Hot Tamales (Mary Sue and Susan). When my brother and wife visited Monday and stayed at the Westin Bonaventure across the street this seemed like the perfect place to meet. And it was. I think Monday night... More

The Sunday brunch gives you the opportunity to taste about 20 of their menu items. The food is unique, delicious, and beautifully presented. The service is excellent. This meal was worth every penny of the $30 they charge.

Just arrived from a long haul flight and needed a good meal after all the rubbish the airline fed us(travelling cattle class), and we learned to look at TA and its nearest affordable but excellent recommendation. We found this mexican restaurant very near our Hotel and the taste really blew us away. I had the steak quesadilla and my wife... More
